"If you have AIDS stop having sex. Don't not have children.

If you can not afford to feed a child DON'T have one let alone 10"

All of Africa's problems sorted by RunawayWife!
Fuck Bob Geldof and Bono THIS is where it's at.

jugglingjo · 20/03/2011 16:47

Do you think she meant to say "Don't have children"

Makes more logical sense that way. But either statement "don't have' or "don't not have" is equally crazy for different reasons.

Actually I don't know why I'm still around on this thread. Just that bored of a Sunday afternoon, having a cuppa, and children have control of the telly !Brew

Not that the issues beneath the drivel on here aren't incredibly important !

allsquareknickersnofurcoat · 20/03/2011 16:47

Anyone not heard the "AIDSisland" suggestion...?
Hmm

jugglingjo · 20/03/2011 17:08

RunAwayWife may be right that access to contraception could do some good in Africa.

Next Comic Relief day perhaps we could focus especially on giving £5 for what? 20 condoms Wink

Allalone0 · 20/03/2011 17:17

What I don't agree with is being FORCED to partake in all the hype, even if you don't want to. Whatever happened to 'Freedom of choice'?

A part of what is contributed goes towards the 'EXPENSES' of the celebrities that are involved!!!!

Shouldn't it be done as an act of charity??

RunAwayWife · 20/03/2011 19:12

Really I don't care if people want to have 20 kids, weather they live in Africa of next door as long as I don't end up having to pay for them. I know a lot of women in Africa have no say over their "husbands" and I do feel sorry for any woman who ends up with HIV/AIDS because her husband has been putting it about, but education and contraception are a must.

We can pour money in to Africa from now till doomsday and it will make no difference.

I would rather put my money in to something that can be helped and can be changed

RunAwayWife · 20/03/2011 19:14

Also a major issue is the catholic church, its involvement in Africa and its out of date view on contraception

Himalaya · 20/03/2011 22:14

You wouldn't know this from watchin CR but Africa is one of the worlds fastest growing regions, poverty is falling faster than previously thought and under 5 death rates are down.

A good link

gorionine · 21/03/2011 06:11

"but education and contraception are a must."

yes that is very true, RunAwayWife and much much better than your

"If you have AIDS stop having sex. Don't not have children."

Which is exactly what notreallyno said in her Sun 20-Mar-11 11:03:51 post.
