when he says it as 'sefia' ?

Tis making me laugh quite a lot Grin

Oh yes and when did they start teaching children about 'vertices'? I must be really thick but I didn't know what they were until DS1 told me.

Oh yes! and the people who work in our local takeaway are chip-shopists!

Chulita · 10/03/2011 11:36

DD (2.4) just came out with 'lickypop' today which made me Grin Also 'lelloos' for oranges, 'lou' for phone (as in , helloo?), 'moff' as in 'take them off' so now it's 'socks moff mummy' and 'byesoon'

DaffodilsAndScillas · 10/03/2011 11:52

DD used to say 'fuck you' for 'thank you', and was always dropping things out of her buggy to be picked up by sweet elderly ladies who could never understand why I then tried to clamp my hand over DD's mouth.. Grin

She also pronounced 'fat controller' (Thomas) as something which sounded very much like 'fuckingcunt'.

I'm very disappointed that she now calls pyjamas PJs instead of janamas.

receiverofopiniongiver · 10/03/2011 17:54

DaffodilsandScillas you reminded me of my ds who went through a stage of loving Winnie the Pooh and would pronounce 'oh bother' as 'oh bugger'!

DD used to when having her hair washed, go very west country and call 'Moi eyes'

SpawnChorus · 10/03/2011 18:00

According to DS (4) Winnie the Pooh = We Need a Poo.

Nagoo · 10/03/2011 19:54

it was Willy and the Poo in our house :)

atiat · 10/03/2011 20:06

atiat · 10/03/2011 20:07

.......

mrsmoores · 10/03/2011 20:07

in our house we have,

buff like it - buzz lightyear
the incredible hunk for hulk
prawd for raw
hippo-pot-enough for hippo

Vallhala · 10/03/2011 20:10

Wipes were Fffffwipes when DD1 was little whilst a little girl we knew would say "Wank you" when she wanted to express gratitude and my best pal was fond of visiting the allery gart.

Our dog, Monty, was Mon-Mons and when she was told she was "Cute, pretty and gorgeous" SS1 then told Grandma that she was "Coot, prit, gor".

DD2 just screamed. :o

Vallhala · 10/03/2011 20:11

Pah! I meant DD1, not SS1.

atiat · 10/03/2011 20:13

i notice that most of the words with w my DS2 pronounce it F instaid, i just talk to him without correcting him directly but try to pronounce the correct word again, as i working with children I find it the best way

pooka · 10/03/2011 20:19

Dd had an aunt laundry (Audrey) and mil's best friend was called ogre (olga).

We drove a vulva (Volvo).

Ate cocklit (chocolate) and brecksie (breakfast) and sossgees (sausages).

lemonmousse · 10/03/2011 20:20

My DD always pronounced towel as 'tibble' - I still say now 'Pass me the tibble off the radaitor'.

DS misheard Yorkshire Puddings as 'Autumn Puddings' when he was little - we still use it now and he's 18! Imagine his GF's face when I shouted through from the kitchen "How many Autumn Puddings do you want?" Grin

pooka · 10/03/2011 20:20

And ds1 was obsessed with indie wonder jones

upyourdiva · 10/03/2011 20:21

YANBU - I love it when DS does things like that :). Unless he is a teenager.

  1. Pwop-e-blob - Problem Blob from Numberjacks
  2. I can't bee-member - I can't remember
  3. Fuge - Huge
  4. Snatchoo - Statue

I think it is daft little things like this that I will miss when he grows up :(:)

I was 13 when I realised Wardrobe was not pronounced Wardrome Blush

My brother is dyslexic and if reading he says 'Picachu' instead of 'Pistachio' and 'Ma-ring-goo' instead of 'Mirangue' I know I should'nt but he's 16 and it has always cracked me up :o

sethstarkaddersmackerel · 10/03/2011 20:22

dh drives a Mishybishy.

dd and ds1 have been arguing about which one of them is going to be Luke Skywater.

dd says 'certainately' which I love very much.

ladyfirenze · 10/03/2011 21:44

windscriper - windscreen wiper
weathercourse - weather forecast
greckfast - breakfast
best - vest

ladyfirenze · 10/03/2011 21:46

also, cuticles are referred to as 'gums' on your fingers

Bababoom · 10/03/2011 21:51

DS (3) says radi-heater and lots of other cuties, but my favourite is that he calls loo roll "rolling pin". I was in the loo in a tiny cafe with him on Sunday, and he sings out very loudly, "Where's the rolling pin, Mummy?" God only know what people thought we were doing Blush

LadyBiscuit · 10/03/2011 22:23

My DS has been talking a lot about the key character in Cars called Mr McKing. I thought that this was quite unlikely given the hero is Lightning McQueen. It turns out he's actually called Strip Weathers. But he is introduced as 'Heeeeere he iiiiis, the King!'

And somehow, in my little boy's head, that has become Mr McKing.

:o

mumbar · 10/03/2011 22:27

My DS syas 'Winnie MeQueen' instead of lightening Hmm

mumbar · 10/03/2011 22:31
