when he says it as 'sefia' ?

Tis making me laugh quite a lot Grin

Oh yes and when did they start teaching children about 'vertices'? I must be really thick but I didn't know what they were until DS1 told me.

We have hostiple, trianangle, and my favourite, screenween wipers (windscreen wipers) from DS(3). I can't bring myself to correct them and will be very sad when he realises that he is wrong and corrects them.

CinnabarRed · 10/03/2011 02:52

DS1 is "fumious" with DS2 if DS2 runs DS1 over while in his walker.

And goes down to the "salad" to help DP choose wine [cellar].

MrsKitty · 10/03/2011 05:31

DS (4) has:

Cupincumber for cucumber
Compinputer for computer
Ropey for rugby "is Daddy watchin' ropey men, Mummy?"

Pollo · 10/03/2011 05:43

Ontadinkumpilit from my daughter, now 22, meant,'I would like a drink with a straw in it.' (she thought that when I told her not to spill it, I was naming the object sticking out of the cup)

Tephalone, ephalant, par cark, Boley (Granny), daddom (button)

Takes me back...

flimflammery · 10/03/2011 06:11

Just half an hour ago DD asked me, 'What does ponner mean?' After much Confused she explained,
'like in once a ponner time.'
Grin

But my favourite of DD's current ones is 'I need to put some percishonner on my hair' (conditioner)

And at shopping malls when you go up the escalatiah

MmeLindt · 10/03/2011 07:41

DS had a plastic Shrek toy from MacDonalds that said (in German) "Ich bin ein Ogre".

DS used to say, "Ich bin ein Yogurt".

:o

crockydoodle · 10/03/2011 07:49

DD wanted me to buy her a mermalaid costume :D

IreneHeron · 10/03/2011 07:55

My favourite of DS's are radiheater instead of radiator and contility room instead of utility room. He gets it mixed up with the conservatory.

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 10/03/2011 08:27

DS2 came into our bed when he was a toddler and started singing. DH joined in - DS was very indignant and exclaimed, 'Daddy, you're boiling my dong'.
DH bought me a swatch with peacock on, DS couldn't keep a secret 'Mummy, when can I see your new
po-pop?'
And we still call peacocks po-pops.

SarfEasticated · 10/03/2011 08:39

We have 'recordia' rather than boring old recorder - I love it - sounds much more musical :)

Hullygully · 10/03/2011 08:42

My dd wanted to know if the woolworths would be coming out as it was a full moon.

Ds goes to dinner shops rather than restaurants.

TryingVeryHard · 10/03/2011 09:01

lol at shitbit = biscuit, ours is biquis
We also have cock for clock, whilst frog and flag sound an awful lot like f**k! Blush Grin
And socks sound a bit like sucks, yesterday morning DS (2.6) was running around barefoot yelling Mummy sucks, Mummy sucks! cue big grin on DP face Blush

I'm absolutely LOVING his mispronounciations and wouldn't correct him just yet.

I have a speech impendiment myself, which my parents had a chance to correct when I started school(I was offered free speech therapy) but refused as I was too cute! I did resent that a bit, as a teenager, but I'm fine with it now :)

Lol at boiling my dong, Woolworth and dinner shops Grin
All of these are so cute

TechnoKitten · 10/03/2011 09:30

We had cumber (or cumcumber when he was trying really hard!) and bwown (emphasis on "wow"). He still wants the ocklesses (binoculars) to look through sometimes and yellow is lallow. I love them :)

pumperspumpkin · 10/03/2011 09:41

In salads you have cooooomcumber.

pumperspumpkin · 10/03/2011 09:45

From the back of the car:

DD: "Mummy, DS's taken his willy off."

FannyFifer · 10/03/2011 09:46

DS used to say yaya for ladder and mumpy instead of bumpy, miss all his mispronunciation's, he does still call his Grandma Bamma which is cute.
Looking forward to it all over again with DD.

cumbria81 · 10/03/2011 09:47

I still can't say binoculars correctly.

Lucikly it's not a word that crops up in every day conversation for me.

DastardlyandSmugly · 10/03/2011 09:51

DS made up a whole new word for swimming which we loved so much we still use - 'shall we go bintiden'.

DD also has some lovely ones:

seesaw - horse
creamow - cow

Can't think of anymore at the moment.

Mercedes519 · 10/03/2011 09:52

We told DS (4) the other day that he used to call Weeto's 'choc-choc-wee-wee-ro' and he looked at us as if we were mad Grin

It made perfect sense at the time because Cheerios were 'wee-wee-ros' so Weetos were the chocolate version.

We still have dudets on the beds though, that was soooo cute.

Sugarkane · 10/03/2011 09:53

We get a baby nipple instead of baby hippo.

The worst for me was after explainging girls and boys parts, she didnt quite understand and for a week started calling all girls vagina. I had to correct her after a trip to the doctors where she decided to start shouting one of her friends by their new name. Blush

TryingVeryHard · 10/03/2011 10:56

ROFL @ calling all girls vagina

gettingout · 10/03/2011 11:08

DS(6) stays says mimute, hopstical for hospital and sholdiers for soldiers.

DD used to mispronounce popcorn as cockporn which always caused much hilarity.

It is quite sad when they stop doing this but like many others they live on in the family. I have to try hard to say minute now.Grin
