As I spent most of my time here..I thought I'd use it to say goodbye

As starkly reminded by recent threads, MN is not the sort of place that I feel very safe, with or without anonymity. I don't expect to be missed, I have often been quite and outspoken bitch on here and haven't exactly made a lot of friends. I am delighted to have met some of the feminists, and will hopefully see them again. But twice in two weeks I've had PMs reminding me of things I've posted about my husband and I'm really upset about it. For me MN has been a quick knee jerk experience, one that captures my mood at any moment. So toodle pip.....about time I did more with the dcs anyway.

I am really aware that this is an attention seeking thread, but I just wanted MN to know that I won't be the only one leaving when apparent heartbreak (not mine) is fodder for someone's 'shit stirring Sunday'.....

I care. And I want to know.

Because I am nosey concerned.

Pancakeflipper · 22/02/2011 19:37

PParker - it would be silly to go. This site is weird and slightly bonkers at the moment. But it will settle again ( though everyone will have different names by then).

I'm no prolific poster on here. For yonks I have just plodded around happily. Sometimes I agree with you, sometimes I roll my eyes. But don't leave cos someone with no gumption, hiding behind a pm is shit-stirring.
Ignore, report, out-them. But don't go.

Vallhala · 22/02/2011 19:39

To PM someone with the kind of message that you've had is cowardly and spiteful Posie. I can only add my voice to those who are urging you to report it and name change if necessary. Don't let the bitch win, it's she who should be leaving, not you.

I've no idea who you're referring to but I do know that if anyone tried those tricks with me my response would make their ears burn.

You're a bigger person than me - I'd be posting exactly what they said and their name on here.

Chin up Posie. :)

bupcakesandcunting · 22/02/2011 19:41

"You're a bigger person than me - I'd be posting exactly what they said and their name on here."

Me too. And I urge you to do the same.

Also, am chuckling like a drain at the posters on here asking PP to name 'n' shame so they know who to avoid when they only want to know because they have urges that need to be satisfied. I can read you all like a book and not a very good one either.

SueWhite · 22/02/2011 19:43

Fuck it, I just want to know because I'm nosy.

Gemsy83 · 22/02/2011 19:43

I want to know because im nosey- no bones about it!

rocketleaf · 22/02/2011 19:43

Posie, I am not too familiar with you either as I have rarely poked my head above the TTC/antenatel parapet until recently, but I really think it would be to the detriment of MN if you were to do nothing about this. Even from your posts on here and the reaction from the people I do recognise I can tell you will be a loss if you leave. That said a break might not be a bad thing, just to get perspective, up to you of course but don't let it be because you felt forced into it.

Report this nasty piece of work, it should be a simple thing for MN to do an IP check and ban.

I also think that an ignore function such as I have seen on other forums would be a great addition to MN, especially if it then blocked PMs from that person, someone starts hassling you or getting personal then you block them, end of problem.

humphreythehamster · 22/02/2011 19:44

Posie, I'm really sorry you have been made to feel this way. You won't recognise me as I've namechanged due to a RL stalker, but if you leave MN does that mean you'll have time to accompany my lardy arse out running?

burninghamwastemidlands · 22/02/2011 19:45

Vile, unacceptable behaviour.

jenandberry · 22/02/2011 19:46

It is very obvious who it is. I wonder if she has tweeted this thread for her own amusment. It is in AIBU so it is open season.

Cripes, I was on that thread, it was really upsetting to read.

All the more reason to stay, and not let the rude bitch win, or think she has. What a yellow belly resorting to pm bullying. (whoever she is Grin )

BrianAndHisBalls · 22/02/2011 19:46

bups Grin

DoingTheBestICan · 22/02/2011 19:47

I will be sorry if you do decide to leave Posie,i have been here for nearly 2 yrs now & i cant remember what anyone has posted yesterday never mind 6 mths ago.

Why should you have to leave anyway?

EdgarAleNPie · 22/02/2011 19:47

well,i almost never agree with you, but if we all ageed with each other it would be pretty dull, we'd justbe asking each other opinions of Farrow & Ball Paint without being able to say 'actually, it does look like dishwater'

sp stick around so i can continue to enjoy destroying your wrong opinions.

definitely report that crap bag that Pmd you even if you are going.

they may do it to others.

advice generally comes from our ideas, not our reality.not having a perfect life doesn't mean we don't have good ideas about how to make it perfect, therefore you don't need to have an ideal life to give worthwhile advice. so perhaps noneed to feel hypocritical on that score - to some extent most people that give advice are.

bupcakesandcunting · 22/02/2011 19:48

Ooooooh hello, Brian.

Ding dong Wink

ThePosieParker · 22/02/2011 19:48

humphrey.....you're the thing at the back of my mind that is itching but don't know how to scratch!! I keep asking DH what I've forgotten! And I would love to watch your arse as you run 100 steps ahead of me.

And this thread has been tweeted.
