to be [hmm] about a poster when I PM them and get this...

gillybean2 · 16/02/2011 16:18

OK so I don't often PM people, but do occassionally.

Today I tried to PM someone and when I clicked send it came up with a message:
"Sorry but PMs aren't the quickest way to get in contact with Justine..." and went on to give an MN email address to contact her at instead.

So I'm now Hmm about the OP as the implcation from this message is that this person is someone at MNHQ posting annonymously.

I might add that I also PM someone else today and didn't get that message and have never seen it before either.

Of course it could just be a bug. But I'm still rather Hmm. Especially as the OP is posting as a dad...

What would you think?

HalfTermHero · 16/02/2011 17:57

I have been getting tonnes of 'mumsnet is offline for a moment' for the last month or two.

gillybean2 · 16/02/2011 18:03

Wow. Think this is the most ever posts I've had to an OP!

Wondering what the deleted posts are about... Starts to feel more paranoid than normal

MarinaResurges presumably that poster has posted before and commented on that situation? I googled and couldn't find any other posts by this particular poster so I doubt it is them (or UQD who was mentioned before!). Course they may just have name changed for this particular thread... Hmm

I think the poster I was thinking of is a regular gillybean. Well well well!

ledodgy · 16/02/2011 18:26

We all know Justine is really Justin, Gilly you are out of the loop,

Wink
gillybean2 · 16/02/2011 18:28

Was I ever in the loop?! Or are you expelling me from the loop!? And what loop anyhow!? feels even more paranoid at being left/push out of the loop Wink

BoysAreLikeDogs · 16/02/2011 18:31

victoriascrumptious · 16/02/2011 18:33

I would like to demand the reinstation of my troll accounts as a gesture of goodwill troll2troll.

ledodgy · 16/02/2011 18:34

Come on Jussa lad where you hidin'?

elmofan · 16/02/2011 18:41

Come on Justine - man up & explain Wink

ledodgy · 16/02/2011 18:43

It's the gentlemanly thing to do..

TheMonster · 16/02/2011 18:50

Do you remember Terry Wogan on Radio 2, and his references to 'the other listener'. Maybe MN is the same, and it's just me and 'the other poster', who actually has thousands of names.

Maybe...

Or maybe not...

Katey1010 · 16/02/2011 19:06

Marking too

SoupDragon · 16/02/2011 19:07

TBH, I'm wondering why you'd post this here rather than just waiting for MNHQ to deal with it and reply.

Binfullofmaggotsonthe45 · 16/02/2011 19:11

Didn't anyone get the technical issue screen this afternoon?

Defo a glitch....

I was a bit grrrr as I had just typed a dazzling witty and savvy reply for someone who had been served a rascist comment and pooooffffff - it disappeared into the ether.

So if there are only 7 great mums where are the rest off us? Have we gone to Iceland?

Jux · 16/02/2011 19:11

So that's why my campaign to have trolls' posts smelling gently of poo got nowhere ...... Justine, shame on youGrin

DirtyMartini · 16/02/2011 19:14

Do you think Justine et al sometimes wonder what they have created, and view as all as wayward naughtly children with a somewhat exasperated air?

LaWeaselMys · 16/02/2011 19:59

GetOrf - yup. Definately.

TrillianAstra · 16/02/2011 20:00

It's aliiiiiive

Yep, Justine et al wish they could ditch the whole thing and go join NetMums, but they can't resist the lure of occassionally going on daytime telly to talk about what mums "really think"
