to be [hmm] about a poster when I PM them and get this...

OK so I don't often PM people, but do occassionally.

Today I tried to PM someone and when I clicked send it came up with a message:
"Sorry but PMs aren't the quickest way to get in contact with Justine..." and went on to give an MN email address to contact her at instead.

So I'm now Hmm about the OP as the implcation from this message is that this person is someone at MNHQ posting annonymously.

I might add that I also PM someone else today and didn't get that message and have never seen it before either.

Of course it could just be a bug. But I'm still rather Hmm. Especially as the OP is posting as a dad...

What would you think?

GypsyMoth · 16/02/2011 17:34

Er I have just found an odd email from mumsnet towers, sent today but there is no message content. In the subject box is another posters query to mnhq????

GloriaSmut · 16/02/2011 17:36

Right now, Up There in MN Towers, I reckon it is just like the stoning scene in Life of Brian. But in reverse:

"Are there any men here today?" ....

GypsyMoth · 16/02/2011 17:37

And it gives case number 44760.....

madwomanintheattic · 16/02/2011 17:38

see, this is what you get what darren is let out to play. tsk.

we want bigtech. we want bigtech.

HecateQueenOfWitches · 16/02/2011 17:38

I bet it's that bloke who wants to know why women think they're better parents.

Clearly Justine wants to rumble...

What happened to that nice Thomas or young man from Mumsnet ( really can't remember his name). Perhaps it was him pretending to be Justine whilst she was out buying biscuits.

Troll is much more exciting that technical glitch!

ColdHeartedBitch · 16/02/2011 17:40

Yes there was a darrentech. he was allowed out to plya but i think hully scared him and he ran away. iirc.

ILoveTIFFANY another poster got an email intended for someone else yesterday...We have driven MNHQ quite mad Grin

HecateQueenOfWitches · 16/02/2011 17:43

We have to be nice to the Techs.

We broke the first one and now we're not allowed to play with them.

itssnotfunny · 16/02/2011 17:43

madwomanintheattic · 16/02/2011 17:43

Oh, this is all very interesting.

ColdHeartedBitch · 16/02/2011 17:51

Tis a shame. Its fun when the techs/HQ come to play.

Do you think if we ply them with lots of Wine we could tempt them?

Buda · 16/02/2011 17:51

Well it is all perfectly obvious.

You have all broken Mumsnet. It's going funny. I haven't had the "Gone offline for 30 secs" message for a few days. Obviously now the 30 second breaks are not enough for MNHQ and they are sticking the wrong thingies in the wrong thingies. Not in a rude way. I don't think. But in the manner of an old-fashioned switchboard.

ColdHeartedBitch · 16/02/2011 17:53

i have been getting the we have encountered an error message alot.

MarinaResurgens · 16/02/2011 17:55

I think it might be connected to a dad poster who was really inappropriately messaged by a TV company trawling for subjects for a documentary. I know what happened to him was reported to MNHQ so perhaps that's the default message that appears when the staff are monitoring a poster's inbox - for the best of reasons.
But - you'd have to say who it was Gillybean!
