some of the opinions posted are hideously ignorant, largly offensive show the poster to be a cunt.

it has nothing to do with polictical correctness or netmums fluffyness.

it is all to do with the poster being a total and utter wanker

well apparently some people believe in ADHD and others don;t. its just a difference of opinion huh.
Hmm

eh?! Sorry i thought this was a public forum and we were all free to express our opinions freely. If you are allowed to be outraged and stand your ground surely I can too?

Anyway i'm logging off.

balloonballs · 07/02/2011 21:05

Why would you be outraged? What ground are you standing?
What burn wrote and what you originally posted twice are very different.
When it's obvious that people are hurt about slurs against their children why labour a point your not entirely sure about?Confused

GORGEOUSX · 07/02/2011 21:08

Why can't people post an opinion without others wading in and having a go? Why does every thread have to go the same way - i.e. downhill.

Aitch · 07/02/2011 21:11

so is this thread still in existence or has it been deleted?

Blacksand · 07/02/2011 21:11

Because opinions need challenging - even 'lighthearted' ones.

penelopestitsdropped · 07/02/2011 21:12

My son has ADHD. I would give anything, anything to be able to "fix" him just by being a better parent.

Sadly some of the fucking morons on that thread are so incredibly ignorant they seem to believe that anything they read in the Sun should be treated as fact.

I could have a far better conversation with something i just excreted than some of the posters on that thread.

so no i wont go and challenge them. what is the point? it is like trying to convince a lion to go veggie.

OP posts:
penelopestitsdropped · 07/02/2011 21:13

and i fully expect that post to be deleted. rightly so tbh.

but i am so angry at some of the posts over there being allowed to stand.

Rhadegunde · 07/02/2011 21:14

This reply has been deleted

Message withdrawn at poster's request.

claig · 07/02/2011 21:14

because most people are intolerant of others' opinions. They don't want anybody to voice a different opinion. That is the definition of political correctness.

BurnAfterReading · 07/02/2011 21:15

Gorgeous..that's why we choose our friends and not our co MNers....Wink

If we met in a bar regularly we'd probably kill each other, handbags and stiletto heels at the ready ha ha

Oh god, not that we're all wearing stiletto heels and can't have a proper scrap without pulling hair and swinging handbags...I almost generalised about us women not being able to scrap lol

Blacksand · 07/02/2011 21:15

penelope - let them stand. They will be searchable. They do no one a disservice but the posters.

TrollyMcTrollPants · 07/02/2011 21:17

Poor Peachy was really got at, I think a lot of people are leaving over it.. Sad

Serendippy · 07/02/2011 21:17

I posted on that thread. My un-pc opinions were that children should not be allowed everywhere, parents should not be able to self-diagnose as an excuse for bad parenting (although I distinctly stated that children who had received an official diagnosis DID have needs as it takes years to get a diagnoses), parents should not pierce babies ears, BF is best for baby etc. I do not think any of them would upset anyone, however I stopped posting at half 3 this afternoon and it has had about a million messages since then.

GORGEOUSX · 07/02/2011 21:18

Penelopetits - Please don't let ignorant posters upset you. FWIW I think ADHD is very real, but all too often is used as a diagnosis when it shouldn't be - just my opinion.

I don't doubt that your DC truly does suffer from it and you have my sympathies - I imagine it's a bugger to live with and you surely don't need any more stress in your life.

Sassybeast · 07/02/2011 21:21

The total and utter wankiness of the most vociferous posters on those threads is becoming increasingly obvious the more wanky and vociferous their posts become. Not MNs finest hour...

TheFallenMadonna · 07/02/2011 21:21

Why don't you doubt that penelope's DS has 'actual' ADHD, despite all this apparently unarguable overdiagnosis.

GORGEOUSX · 07/02/2011 21:23

Because I'm not going to assume that Penelopetits is a liar. I don't know her and will think positively towards her until she proves to be anything different.

penelopestitsdropped · 07/02/2011 21:25

I am actually scared to look at posters names for fear of seeing someone i previously admired/enjoyed reading.

OP posts:
balloonballs · 07/02/2011 21:26

Gorg have you read the thread? all of penelope's posts?

Do you have any reasoning behind your "all too common" comment?

HingCogNeeto · 07/02/2011 21:28

I know, penelope Sad

Gorgeousx, it is INCREDIBLY difficult to get a dx of ADHD

GORGEOUSX · 07/02/2011 21:31

Balloonballs I haven't read all the thread, nor all of Penelopestits posts, but I can still have an opinion. I don't wish to wade through 1000 odd posts - does that mean I have no right to voice an opinion?

GORGEOUSX · 07/02/2011 21:33

HinCognito If you say so, I accept it - I don't purport to be an expert - thank you for informing me of that.

TheFallenMadonna · 07/02/2011 21:33

Might not be an informed opinion though, eh?

FabbyChic · 07/02/2011 21:34
