"To think people with mental health issues should be locked up?"

I don't get why they closed the asylums, now we have all these unstable lunatics wandering round the streets. There is one living near me so I can't even let the dc play out in case she kidnaps them and locks them in her cellar. I think they should start some kind of loony register to keep tabs on them and then they can notify residents when one moved into the area!

absolutely maryz - and at least with them both next to each other on the thread they stand out more Grin

FabbyChic · 04/02/2011 10:46

Are you some kind of asshole. Fifty years ago if a woman had a baby out of wedlock they locked her up, because of how things worked back them they ended up staying in an asylum for thirty years.

Those that could be helped better in the community are now looked after in the community and there health is managed by prescription drugs.

I have BPD, Depression, Social Phobia and Anxiety should I be locked up.

From the outside you would not know I was sick, meeting me you would not know I was sick. The only person that suffers in my life is me, should I be locked up.

What a pathetic human being you are.

GettinTrimmer · 04/02/2011 10:46

snapfish, I suspected your op was a wind up but wasn't completely sure as sadly I've heard people talking like that Sad Take care

sweetgilly · 04/02/2011 10:46

Nice

SnapFish · 04/02/2011 10:46

Have reported to MNHQ, My God I am so embarressed now, I should stay away from MN when I am cross!

OP posts:
SnapFish · 04/02/2011 10:47

You're probably right Fabby

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 04/02/2011 10:48

oh bless you SnapFish

ignore the comments of those that haven't seen the further explanation of the thread title and OP (as you can see above at least one person has already realised their mistake), and go and make a nice cup of tea.

Clunge · 04/02/2011 10:48

Read the whole thread before posting

Hope you're ok SnapFish.

DeidreBarlow · 04/02/2011 10:49

I think people who can't read a whole thread should be locked up!

Snapfish what absolute arse-holes they are. Take comfort in the fact they are complete morons and you are not.

SnapFish · 04/02/2011 10:49

Baroque, kettle is on Smile

OP posts:
xstitch · 04/02/2011 10:50

I agree Deirdrie

SnapFish · 04/02/2011 10:50

I take a lot of comfort in the fact that you all think they are complete wankers, helps me to remember that not everyone thinks like that.

OP posts:
FabbyChic · 04/02/2011 10:51

Sorry Snapfish just seen your second post, Im sorry you have come across bigotted assholes!

I hope you are fairing okay! Should have read the whole thread, read your OP and saw red!

DeidreBarlow · 04/02/2011 10:52

Uneducated twunts with nothing better do to with their sad little lives think like that!

How's your tea?Smile

Clunge · 04/02/2011 10:52

Snapfish, if you need locking up then so do I. During one of my finer moments of PND I was found wandering down the highstreet in my pjs and slippers. I don't mind admitting I'm a bit mental Smile

eaglewings · 04/02/2011 10:53

Seeing as there is still misunderstanding after all these years about mental health problems, maybe the schools should include it as a core subject and then the kids can teach the parents who judge at the school gate.
taking antidepressants and having hospital treatment is no different from having an inpatient stay and taking insulin as a diabetic

coppertop · 04/02/2011 10:53

Sorry you've heard those comments IRL, Snapfish. :(

SnapFish · 04/02/2011 10:54

Clunge, don't worry about it, I hid DD in the bottom of the wardrobe to keep her safe!

OP posts:
BoffinMum · 04/02/2011 10:55

Sorry you were put through that. Those people in the playground would have been Nazis in another era.

You may be pleased to know there is a term for their crap - it is 'disablist abuse' and as such could even be reported to the head teacher if necessary. However I imagine holding head high is probably the way forward here.

eaglewings · 04/02/2011 10:56

by the way the debates on here should show you how strongly people feel about prejudice and that you are not alone snapfish.

Hope you are having a cake with the tea

ambarth · 04/02/2011 10:56

Ignore them snapfish. I have had a pychotic episode and I now walk the streets posing no threat to anyone whatsoever. I even have two happy healthy children.

sjm123 · 04/02/2011 10:56

How horrible for you :(

People like that are not worth your effort clearly Snapfish. Ignorant bastards.

SnapFish · 04/02/2011 10:57

Thats it isn't ambarth, my DC are happy and healthy and I'm doing really well too. Its just so hard to put it behind me when I'm surrounded by idiots.

OP posts:
Vicky2011 · 04/02/2011 10:58

my DH suffers from horrendous depression and occasional psychotic episodes. Although he has been "locked up" twice at his and my request he is now back working full time and able to be a decent and caring father. I'm finding this thread really reassuring - shows you really shld ignore the horrid playground twats Snapfish!

Curiousmama · 04/02/2011 10:59

Sad to hear that in this day and age! I have panic disorder (which is fine at the moment with ads) and tbh a lot of people I know are going through some sort of emotional/mental illness. Those ignorant people you overheard are sad gits who have no idea. I hope they were very young?
