"To think people with mental health issues should be locked up?"

I don't get why they closed the asylums, now we have all these unstable lunatics wandering round the streets. There is one living near me so I can't even let the dc play out in case she kidnaps them and locks them in her cellar. I think they should start some kind of loony register to keep tabs on them and then they can notify residents when one moved into the area!

Snap you don't want friends like that, better off without them because they would drag you back down.

A mother strutted about the playground at my dd's school mouthing off about how I would need her services soon as she had heard I was on ADs. I was quite heartened when I found out one of the other mothers complained to her boss about her behaviour (she works in child protection).

Sorry for telling you Fuck off btw, its just your OP really upset me especially after only last year having to listen in court to people saying I should never see dd again because I had taken fluoxetine in the past.

SnapFish · 04/02/2011 10:32

Sorry if I upset anyone with my op I'm just really really angry and upset too.

As a MentalHealth Nurse it saddens me but doesnt surprise me of the attitudes displayed to snapfish, and considering 1 in 4 of us at some point in our lives will have difficulties with our mental health, those woman are just so ignorant.

xstitch · 04/02/2011 10:33

You know snap I would have tempted to walk up to them going wibble wibble Blush. Don't take that as a suggestion mind you don't think it would help I am just in that kind of mood today.

BuzzLightBeer · 04/02/2011 10:34

Yes I'm sure you are, anyone would be. But if I were you I'd have this thread pulled and start it again without upsetting other people.

JanetPlanet · 04/02/2011 10:36

As I said, there but for the grace of god go them. The only people who seem normal are the ones you don't know very well. I'd be surprised if these women had never experienced some mh problems themselves, or in their families, and are putting a judgmental front on to make them seem more 'normal'.

MmeLindt · 04/02/2011 10:37

Snapfish
Why don't you report your post and ask MNHQ to change the wording?

slightlymad72 · 04/02/2011 10:38

Heres a loo roll for you OP,{loo roll emoticon} you're spouting that much shit I thought you might need to wipe.

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 04/02/2011 10:38

kreecherlivesupstairs · 04/02/2011 10:41

I think that people need to read the whole thing. I was the 2nd or 3rd person to reply, I've been away and had a shower and come back to a totally different thread.
Good luck OP.

SnapFish · 04/02/2011 10:42

ah bugger what do I say to mnhq? "I'm an idiot and in a fit of rage I started a shitly titled thread"?

Clunge · 04/02/2011 10:42

It's ignorance. Pure and simple. Those people have obviously been lucky enough to never have to have dealt with mental illness. Hold your head high.

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 04/02/2011 10:43

I am sorry there are such utter twunts in your vicinity. Very sorry Sad

xstitch · 04/02/2011 10:44

Say I started a thread which in hindsight isn't well worded and may be inflammatory as a result. It is a useful thread though so is it possible for the thread title to be edited?

stillbobbysgirl · 04/02/2011 10:44

oh - sorry snapfish - instant angry reaction here without reading your second post

mine and other reactions hopefully shows you though that most reasonable people HATE the kind of attitude you were telling us about and find it very upsetting

ignore uneducated thickos in playground

Dear God, does nobody read a thread before posting any more?
Snapfish, there is one good thing about this appalling situation - it is a quick way of finding out who is worth bothering with and who is not. I sincerely hope that those closed-minded people are in the minority.
