"To think people with mental health issues should be locked up?"

I don't get why they closed the asylums, now we have all these unstable lunatics wandering round the streets. There is one living near me so I can't even let the dc play out in case she kidnaps them and locks them in her cellar. I think they should start some kind of loony register to keep tabs on them and then they can notify residents when one moved into the area!

snapfish darling, you're on the wrong site. The DM is that way --->

GypsyMoth · 04/02/2011 10:18

Aah I see op!!

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 04/02/2011 10:18

ahhh x posts

monkeyflippers · 04/02/2011 10:20

I have to say I am heartened by your responses! My op was what I've just had to listen to three parents spouting in the school playground. Think it was for my benefit too as they know I have issues

Seriously . . . they said that within earshot of you because you have mental health problems?! OMG! What nasty people! What problems do you have exactly that makes them think that is justified?

Ah. Don't listen to them, Snapfish.

That is not what most people think.

Sorry they upset you though. Shall we call them names?

weblette · 04/02/2011 10:20

Snapfish that must have been pretty awful to hear, ignorant cows Angry

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 04/02/2011 10:21

SF - have inboxed you.

SnapFish · 04/02/2011 10:22

I had pnd and ended up in hospital after a psychotic episode, it seems word has got round and now a handful of parents have started to ignore me

OP posts:
monkeyflippers · 04/02/2011 10:22

Because of PND?????!?!?!??!?!?! Fucking hell. I think I wouldn't be able to control myself and would slash their tyres and all sorts of nasty malicious things . . .

. . . actually maybe that means I need to be locked up!

thebountymuncher · 04/02/2011 10:22

Poor you Snapfish, nasty sods.

Hope this thread reassured you that their odd views were very much the minority though!

Sorry you are encountering these types of people SnapFish. Some people are just idiots. What would they do if they had issues they needed top deal with?

eek psychotic episodes must be horrendous. really feel for you. Are you better now?

thederkinsdame · 04/02/2011 10:23

Blush sorry, kneejerk reaction to op. Snapfish, don't let them get to you. They are trying to provoke you and at the end of the day they are ignorant gits who may well have MH issues themselves at some point. God help them if they do...

HingCogNeeto · 04/02/2011 10:24

oh you poor thing; attitudes to MH issues are still firmly entrenched in the 1950s in some folks' minds

thebountymuncher · 04/02/2011 10:25

Though I suppose them being in the wrong doesn't help the fact that you have to share airspace and hear their drivel.

I hope you have people around who are there for you.

thederkinsdame · 04/02/2011 10:25

Don't focus on the people who don't talk to you. We've been through this as DS has a disability. There are some people who don't deserve to even make it on to your radar. You won't change their attitudes, but you can build a strong support network of friends who are like-minded. Have you got any support now?

JaxTellersOldLady · 04/02/2011 10:25

why do you think they were saying that for your benefit?

Do they know you had PND? Dont sound like friends to me. Ignore them and just get on with your day. Hope your day gets better, try not to let it get to you.

SimplyTes · 04/02/2011 10:27

Really sorry snapfish that you are having a tough time. V angry with those hideous parents - have you had any support from other parents?

Hope things are looking brighter now you know we are all with you on this one Smile

LizaTarbucksAuntie · 04/02/2011 10:27

Oh I see, you know them in RL, sorry you have to deal with that, but you know what, screw them.

You clearly have courage and intelligence, why would you dignify them by caring what their ill informed opinions are? Easier said then done, but give it a go.

Take care of yourself.

MackerelOfFact · 04/02/2011 10:27

Gosh, what horrible views. Will they still be saying the same thing when their DCs grow up with paranoia and anxiety disorders thanks to their hysterical parenting?

You can recover from your PND but they will never be cured of their small-mindedness.

JaxTellersOldLady · 04/02/2011 10:27

sorry, lots of Xposts.

Snapfish, these people are not worth the effort of being annoyed and angry. Pity them for how they feel.

BuzzLightBeer · 04/02/2011 10:28

They're twats.

But TBH I think your opening post was illjudged. If hearing that upset you, you don't think people with similar issues might open this and be upset too?

KnittedBreast · 04/02/2011 10:30

Fuck off. You should go to the doctors about your paranoia and then we can all come visit you inside as you are obv too dangerous to be let out!
