To laugh at women that don't work but........

To laugh at women that don't work but rush to the school gates 10 mins after the bell and usually rushing in at school finishing time rambling on about how busy they are and there is not enough time in the day.

I only work 16 hours a week and still manage to get everything done and a meal on the table.

So the question is ''Are people that work more organized?''

JamieLee That's a valid point.

Is it a small slightly amused chuckle or a full on Bwahahahahahaha evil-genius laugh?

Peachy · 28/01/2011 13:48

OOh i love a bit of fuzzy logic

So one's mum wants to look after the kids a bit becuase she likes kids and has some time but one has to say no becuase we cannot really know if she wants to.....

Eh what? If I want some childcare I ask Mum (rarely, a long drive away) and she either says yes or no. Every now and again I say thhanks ever so, it is really appreciated and you know you can say no, right? And she says yes of course.

far easier, when both are adults.

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 28/01/2011 13:48

Jamie - I reckon it's a piggy snort Grin

Please miss - I have 3 children, and am a single parent. My youngest is 3, and my oldest is 10. Should I stay at home on benefits when he (youngest) goes to school - or should I get a job? You see the problem is there are very few term time jobs round here so if I work I'l have to "junk" them off to someone else during the holidays

matchbox20 · 28/01/2011 13:48

Speling or typing is bad......

Abs - see here, I have to take issue. Lady T was a horrible horrible woman. Would not wish to emulate her in any way

FanellaFudge · 28/01/2011 13:49

Thanks slightlymad72. However I feel I have to politely decline your advice, as you are yet to prove your perfect credentials. I'm going to hold out for the Messiah.

JamieLeeCurtis · 28/01/2011 13:49

matchbow - Grin touche!

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 28/01/2011 13:50

ahh - excellent "job" Glynis - I see you've just brought a fresh pot in Smile

matchbox20 · 28/01/2011 13:50

It is your choice if you want to junk them of on someone else or work.

Depends which is more important to you.

I am off for a while now but I expect you will all continue....lol

Oh no Jamie - I was trying to guage Matche's opinions on benefits. I feel that will be highly beneficial

slightlymad72 · 28/01/2011 13:51

Fanella, I am a SAHM, so therefore according to matchbox, I am not perfect. I'll have to go now and thrash myself soundly repeating 'I must do better next time'

hangs head in shame

Honeydragon · 28/01/2011 13:51

What am I? I should be working now but am clearly skiving as this is more fun Grin

Oooooh lets play school run chicken? Last one on the thread at collection time wins, who's up for it?

JamieLeeCurtis · 28/01/2011 13:52

indeed we will. It has been fun

shouldnotbehere · 28/01/2011 13:52

Not read this entire thread, just first few comments.

I think a lot of mums that have to go out to work to pay bills, are envious of SAHM.

I would love to be a SAHM, but circumstances will not allow. I would love that extra time with family cooking gardening housework hobbies et al. I would happily put my career on hold, if I could.

I'll freely admit to being jealous of SAHM's. I do appreciate that many SAHM are busy all day though.

LadyTremaine · 28/01/2011 13:52

Hmm, thanks for that. So what if my job feeds my child? which then is more important?

You sound like an awesme employee.

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 28/01/2011 13:52

So it's ok for me to be on benefits for > ooo - I don't know - 15-18yrs??

Or is there a "cut off" age where it's ok to "junk" them off (just like I do with the older 2 at school for 30 - not 16 hours a week term time already) or leave them to their own devices.

FanellaFudge · 28/01/2011 13:53

Shall I put you down for a copy slightlymad?

matchbox I need your opinion on what I should do.

My DS hasn't started school yet. Should I be working and get someone else to look after him. Or should I stay at home and rely on DH for money? Perhaps DH should give up work as well so we can be SAHP's together, I'm sure the state will happily provide for us.

matchbox

What if you cannot afford to feed, clothe and house your children unless you work full time?

Please tell me? Please!

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 28/01/2011 13:55

no no - if we're going to play school run chicken it has to be in relationship to what time your children are out of school - otherwise it's just not fair bit like life really.

DS2 comes out at 3.10.
