To laugh at women that don't work but........

To laugh at women that don't work but rush to the school gates 10 mins after the bell and usually rushing in at school finishing time rambling on about how busy they are and there is not enough time in the day.

I only work 16 hours a week and still manage to get everything done and a meal on the table.

So the question is ''Are people that work more organized?''

Bye bye Matchbox - you'll be back before the next story (if that bit was true).

Or are you a hairy trucker from Brighton? I think we should be told Grin

only read the first post and im sure this has all kicked off, but i think that the answer is yes, women who work are more organised. Because they have to be - there is an unwritten law, i cant remember who it is named after but i'll take it as my own Brightlights law states that work expands into the time there is to do it. So if you have an hour, it will tke an hour, ten hours then ten hours.

Ive been both working mum and non working mum, never late as working mum, got up early did all housework in half hour mad rush. Sorted school run, dropped DD at breakfast club. Now SAHM again with DD at school and sometimes i just dont know where the day goes, and i will often be one of the last ones to arrive at the school gate. Also, i think there is a law that depends on how far you live from the school gate - the nearer people live, the later they tend to be - i dont get that, but its true

brightlights you are so right - I live next door to school and am often one of last ones there. It's 50/50 'cause I'm also often early and am never late as such, just sometimes one of the last. Oftentimes there are mums who live further away who there before me.

Whats the title of the article your doing research for:-

I am a nosey twat.

10 easy tips to so you can spot who works at the school gates.

Mothers who take less than 10 mins to load the washing machine are obviously not doing it properly.

fifi25 · 29/01/2011 11:13

to or so not sure

ariane5 · 29/01/2011 11:16

troll? no, freelance writer looking for a story? doubt it

bit of an idiot full of her own self importance at getting to school on time and being organised and expecting a round of applause from all us useless sahms', yes i think thats more like it Grin

Speaking personally, I find it far easier to be organised now that I'm working. Because I can afford all the short cuts: more expensive but quickly and easily prepared food, bus tickets instead of walking, even taxis for emergencies, a house that is more easily workable (better storage, better equipped kitchen etc). And of course the house gets less untidy the less time people spend in it.

i got there 10mins early this morning, i couldnt beleive i was the 1st one there. Obviously everyone was late so i left them in the yard with their packed lunch.

fit2drop · 29/01/2011 12:46

Bloody Hell fifi unless its weekend nursery you are two days early .....now THATS commitment, they'll be fine, they have pack-up.:)

fifi25 · 29/01/2011 12:51

I might send a tent along if the weather turns, the woman next door owes me a favour.

fit2drop · 29/01/2011 14:21

Well yes, isn't that what any caring mother would do, goes without saying really. Though personally I would tell them to come and get it themselves if they need it. I could not deter from the itinerary of my organised day. It could make me late for my freelance "LADY WOT LUNCHES" dontcha know .
