To laugh at women that don't work but........

To laugh at women that don't work but rush to the school gates 10 mins after the bell and usually rushing in at school finishing time rambling on about how busy they are and there is not enough time in the day.

I only work 16 hours a week and still manage to get everything done and a meal on the table.

So the question is ''Are people that work more organized?''

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 28/01/2011 15:53

ok - shall I go out to work at night instead????? Would that be better?

clumsymumluckybaby · 28/01/2011 15:54
Biscuit
BaroqueAroundTheClock · 28/01/2011 15:54

and I take it you're ok with people being on benefits for upwards of 15yrs??????? (who are fit for work I haste to add before the carers and people with disabilities pounce on me Grin)

wukter · 28/01/2011 15:59

This really took off. Grin

Honeydragon I'm all aw-shucks at the compliment. Not the 'harsh' bit. The other bit Grin

NinkyNonker · 28/01/2011 16:01

How odd. Surely the question is "are some people more organised than others?" In which case, no shit Sherlock.

partyof52010 · 28/01/2011 16:04

Right. I am in the mood to bite, so bite I shall. (and then kick myself for it afterwards)

I am a SAHM. I have 2 DS that I look after in the day, 1DD who is at school. During the day I am washing the clothes and bedding of DD who has SN, phoning Dr's, ferrying DD to appointments then back to school for the rest of the day.

I am also trying to do activities with my DS, as well as keeping a house, provide meals etc.

Who the bloody hell are you to judge others in this way? You know nothing of other peoples lives, what they are dealing with in their lives, and what may make them rush to the gate.

Now fuck off so I can sit quietly and fume in the corner.

And yes, I've had a very very crap day. Angry

FanellaFudge · 28/01/2011 16:07

Just laughed my way through the last few pages of this.

Odd few serious posts completely oblivious.

Still disapointed to not have a response on my skirting board saga.

Oh, and the school bus was late dropping DS off, do I get points for standing around in the freezing cold for 15mins?

GlynistheMenace · 28/01/2011 16:11

now i'm awe of you matchbox and your powers of observation!

oh wait, no i'm not, you're sounding more and more like a right nosey judgey holier-than-thou twit

matchbox20 · 28/01/2011 16:11

party of...............i have washing to do too you know...lol

OP posts:
BaroqueAroundTheClock · 28/01/2011 16:13

you have a child with SN do you matchbox??

matchbox20 · 28/01/2011 16:17

No my child does not have special needs but the washing stills goes round and round the washing machine.

To strip a bed and load the machine must take oooooooooooooooo 10 mins tops.

OP posts:
partyof52010 · 28/01/2011 16:21

Do you matchbox? I do believe we all have washing to do. I'm guessing the ones that don't are either truly repulsive or wealthy enough to send it out Grin

The amount of extra washing I have due to DD is immense. Bedding every day, 2 or maybe 3 lots of uniform, usually 2 sets of after-school clothes and pyjamas. I'm not moaning, she is my beautiful girl, and I couldn't give a stuff about the amount of washing she produces. So I may puff into the playground at 309pm, rather that having been there since 255 like others, but that is more often than not because I have been busy.

Drinking tea.

Peachy · 28/01/2011 16:21

Pascoe you light up my day by complaining about the suffering on MN: surely the complaints that irk you so much are causing you the suffering you so detest? keep going for you make me giggle an awful lot.

matchbox wshing goinga round is fine; Sn is quite different as I know to my worked- before- Sn cost. Nonetheless your opinion is not important: the school know why we are late (to avoid the pre-school playground crowds), and the LEA know the transport clashes.

Not sure why anyone else's opinion would matter tbh?

Shewhoshallnotbenamed · 28/01/2011 16:22

I'm a single, working mum - 37.5 hours a week. Usually 'just' in time to school, no real reason, just not morning people. Daughter at childminders (pick up in 15 mins) Do you want SS number?

Frankly, I couldn't give a fuck what you think.

This thread has made me laugh lots though, you guys are soooo funny! Grin

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 28/01/2011 16:22

then I think you ought to shut your trap - I have 3 DS's - I thank my lucky stars that none of them have a SN which increases the washing load any more

Shouldn't you be playing with your precious little darling - not much point in your making sure you don't "junk him off" with someone else and then not spending time with him hey.

penelopestitsdropped · 28/01/2011 16:22

So a mother that is not in paid employment isn't working?

You are of course by, and a bit of a Twat

MarthaLovesMatthew · 28/01/2011 16:22

If it makes you feel better to laugh at other people, then do it.

But please know that it just makes you look like an unpleasant person with little better to do. Truly.

Did you really think you were going to spark a serious debate on the back of 'am I being unreasonable to laugh at other people'?

You're ridiculous as well as unkind.

partyof52010 · 28/01/2011 16:22

Oh, and FYI, I have 2 washing machines and 2 tumble dryers. Its like widow bloody twankees round 'ere.

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 28/01/2011 16:24

righteo folks - my DS's are junked off on the computer and in front of the TV - I'm off to make shortbread as you greedy lot seem to have finished most of the biscuits Shock

Glynis or someone - be a star and re-fill the coffee pot will you

If no one cares what I say or think

why the hundreds of replies

you lot are very funny and I laugh a lot at you too.

OP posts:
MABS · 28/01/2011 16:26

No Matchbox - it does not just take ten mins!

If you have an incontinent child with SN I assure you the bed stripping, matress drying performance takes considerably longer,as does the floor mopping, sofa wiping, car seat scrubbing 3 times per day and clothes changing at least 5 time

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 28/01/2011 16:27

why hundreds of replies - well we're waiting on answers to some of our questions - as we need a perfect parent to tell us the correct way to do thing.

In the mean time we've been sitting round drinking coffee and eating biscuits, and discussing whether you should mix brown sauce and tomato ketchup

MarthaLovesMatthew · 28/01/2011 16:28

Some people said they don't care...others will care. And will be hurt by what you said.

Why is it acceptable to be unkind but apparently unacceptable to be late to pick your child up from school?

Moral superiority from the likes of you is baffling...

fifi25 · 28/01/2011 16:28

I got to the school 5 minutes early and it was hard to tell who worked and who didnt. If i counted the people with uggs n leggings and trackies there was quite a few including myself. There was quite a few with jeans and trainers on so it was hard to count. Assuming the working parents had work clothes on there were some of them as well. I would say everyone got there on time, a few stragglers at the gate mind tut tut. How do you know the people you pass who are late to the school are not working evenings? More to the point who gives a shit if youve got your kid!
