i never buy anything made with liquid egg [smug emoticon]

I make my own cakes, have my own chickens and just wouldn't buy/eat any of this ready made shit that has been poisoned

disclaimer - sorry if you have eaten any of this shit

MatureUniStudent · 07/01/2011 22:16

I wondered (with two of my health compromised children having had the flu jab) if any of that egg product had got into the flu jab hence the shortage of flu jabs... and the Government not wanting us to know.... oh the conspiracy!

southeastastra · 07/01/2011 22:17

TrinityMotherOfRhinos · 07/01/2011 22:17

www.telegraph.co.uk/foodanddrink/foodanddrinknews/8247050/Contaminated-eggs-list-of-products.html it does seem to be cakes although quiches have been mentioned,

OP posts:
Vallhala · 07/01/2011 22:19

compo · 07/01/2011 22:19

I ate a pot noodle earlier this week, according to some people that should've killed me, so I'll risk a dollop of Hellmans on my tuna sarnies if that's ok with you? Smile

MatureUniStudent · 07/01/2011 22:21

ha Vall, nice one! How do you manage though with flu jabs then or immunise your children, as they use egg albimum (how is that spelt?)

meltedmarsbars · 07/01/2011 22:22

Bugger, forgot about the Hellmans!

Grin
TragicallyHip · 07/01/2011 22:23

Looks like Caterpillar cake is off the menu then..

MaureenMLove · 07/01/2011 22:23

Seems you're fucked if your lo had a Catterpillar cake for their birthday.

Would now be a good time to let you all know that I too can make cakes and there are a selection of lovely cakes on my profile? I'm sure I could knock up a catterpillar cake, in an emergency.

jpg · 07/01/2011 22:23

don't do flu jabs and kids too old for immunisations just wonder why people would rather rely on cheap crap and then complain when things go wrong rather than have less and eat well - and i speak as someone who has very little but is very aware of what i put in my kids mouths

OP posts:
Vallhala · 07/01/2011 22:24

Neither my children nor I have been immunised, MUS, not against flu or anything else. That's not a decision on vegan grounds per se as I wasn't when the children were born (they're teens now), I was vegetarian.

Takver · 07/01/2011 22:25

I would have thought that if your cake is made with caterpillars then there is more to worry about than a very small amount of possibly-but-not-certainly over the pesticide limit egg?

Vallhala · 07/01/2011 22:25

You could always turn vegan too jpg. Then you could feel really smug and superior.

ha ha ha takver, i like your train of thought Smile

Have you heard News at 10?
Apparently, lack of the exact nutritional combination found in ready meals causes severe lack of a life. Shock

jpg · 07/01/2011 22:27

Thanks Vall for your advice, however i do enjoy a bit of homegrown chicken or free range pig

Earthakitten · 07/01/2011 22:27

From that Telegraph Article:

"even though they pose no risk to human health"

What's the problem then? I shall attempt to care.
