Aaaah fuck it, health and safety don't let you keep chickens in a fourth floor flat and I'd rather be poisoned than smug Wink

LoveBeingADaddysGirl · 07/01/2011 22:28

Ha haha you might be posioned but I'm ok Hmm

meltedmarsbars · 07/01/2011 22:29

Honeydragon - life is tooo short! Wink

Vallhala · 07/01/2011 22:29

"Thanks Vall for your advice, however i do enjoy a bit of homegrown chicken or free range pig"

I'm relieved that I don't eat that poisoned shit.

:o

jpg · 07/01/2011 22:29

even if you don't keep your own chickens then you can make your own cakes, it is pure laziness to rely on the big supermarkets to poison you and your kids and your kids guests Shock

reinitindear · 07/01/2011 22:30

YABU to be so smug. I try and make everything as much from scratch as possible but I have on occasion bought (shock and horror) a ready made quiche Blush not really blushing couldn't give a fuck damn.MUS you now have my brain going down all sorts of conspiracy tracks Smile

Earthakitten · 07/01/2011 22:31

What is this liquid egg of which they speak? That appeals to the slattern in me and sounds like it would take up less space in the fridge.

Earthakitten · 07/01/2011 22:32

I'm a bit of a food slut jpg but I have to say we don't eat cake in this house, so we wouldn't be feeding it to any of my kid's guests. Is cake a food staple or something these days?

jpg · 07/01/2011 22:33

Eartha it is a pile of shit which you should avoid at all costs, full of carcinogens

OP posts:
Honeydragon · 07/01/2011 22:33

I can't make cakes; although I can make cake mix which is fine as I much prefer it.

TheCrackFox · 07/01/2011 22:34

But jpg how can you be sure that your DCs haven't eaten poisoned cake at someone else's house? You better start ringing everyone you know to make sure!

jpg · 07/01/2011 22:35

earthai am just concerned about those people who use them for birthday cakes, I send my kids in with their own food as I don't trust all this shit that they are offered - obviously with due concern

OP posts:
MatureUniStudent · 07/01/2011 22:36

Eartha - Waitrose does it and I admit to having been tempted re omlettes. And I loose in the smug stakes as to date, Tesco Value sponge cake, doubtless made with cheap German liquid Egg and Value ice cream (again proudly containing Dutch reformed liquid egg) is my children's fav weekend treat. I am now guilty of poisioning my children by feeding them carciogenics and main lining egg protien into the ill children in the form of a flu jab... Unsmug face.

TragicallyHip · 07/01/2011 22:40

jpg do you really send your kids to parties with their own food? Hmm

jpg · 07/01/2011 22:41

but surely you must realise that when yo ubuy this shit that you are feeding your dcs that you are tempting fate?

I am not being stupid and I am not loaded but if you go and buy this incredibly cheap crap then you are asking for trouble Hmm

sorry chaps this is obviously just my opinion - but i am never wrong Wink

Earthakitten · 07/01/2011 22:41

From BBC news:

"Dioxins can cause problems for people if they are absorbed at high levels for long periods"

How much cake are you lot feeding your kids then? Seriously? Confused

jpg · 07/01/2011 22:42

yes TH i really do and judging by this news then I am totally justified in doing so Smile

OP posts:
Earthakitten · 07/01/2011 22:42

Grin jpg, are you, in fact, one Jools Oliver?

reinitindear · 07/01/2011 22:43

I hope you are joking jpg about sending your dcs with their own food to parties the damage to them by being the strange kids who bring their own food without allergies and veganism(not sure of the ism) or vegetarianism taken into account obviously would do more long term damage imho.

jpg · 07/01/2011 22:44

No I am not, thank you lord, I am not married to the large tongued one Grin

I am just a mother of lots of children who I am concerned about Smile

OP posts:
Earthakitten · 07/01/2011 22:45

Ah, that's where we differ. I couldn't give a shit about mine, clearly Grin

jpg · 07/01/2011 22:47

reinitindear

I am sorry you feel that way, look at it the other way. there are people dieing from cjd or affected in someway by gm foods, I don't want my dcs in this way, that's all

OP posts:
reinitindear · 07/01/2011 22:48

Nor me Eartha In fact I have just given dd2 her final bottle of liquid egg from Germany Grin

MatureUniStudent · 07/01/2011 22:51

I was always impressed by women like you jpg, and rather scared of you. I was always shamefully relieved when my children didn't invite those children to birthday parties, because I was terrified of the ramifications if one of those children sneaked a forbidden slice of shop bought cake.

There was one child I knew who had that life threatening condition, PKN? is it - the one where they prick the baby's heel at birth - you can't absorb protiens? and that child bought their own food to parties etc. Her mother whilst naturally cautious as her child's diet was a matter of life or death, was not scarily radical.

needsatrim · 07/01/2011 22:53

Wow, picked up loads of reduced to clear cakes from Tescos today. God thg kids were chuffed.
plenty left for tomorrow after Mc Donalds and a fruit shoot.
