Not had the pleasure of watching this dire programme before, i caught the end of it while tidying up after new years day family thing.

What the sort of sexist shit is this, then presenter guy , some supposbly ' funny' idiot actually said, as they introduced a vile man ' let the sausage see the roll' and then all the women were cheering.

How is this shit on tv?

It is typical tabloid tv crap from ITV. I saw it last night and thought it was terrible.

mickeyjohn · 02/01/2011 09:27

Becasue it's great! Light entertainment on a a Saturday night and I think you might need a sense of humour and take it all with a pinch of salt to enjoy it......perhaps you should just watch Newsnight instead on a Satrday evening.

4andnotout · 02/01/2011 09:28

It is shite.

stoppinchingthedummy · 02/01/2011 09:28

i love it Grin paddy mcguiness is hilarious- its all set up mind cos quite often the guy is quite dishy Wink Grin

DrNortherner · 02/01/2011 09:34

YABU!

It's hilarious and great fun. No one is seriously expecting to find the love of their life on there. Paddy McGiuness is HILARIOUS. We love watching it.

No likey no lighty.

LoveBeingADaddysGirl · 02/01/2011 09:38

Must admit to having watched this a couple of weeks ago a d didn't really like it, but then the bloke was weird and we felt a but sorry for him ( he was the one who sat on the horse in the studio and at that point the last ones went out)

redderthanred · 02/01/2011 09:38

didnt say it was serious, but fgs ' let the sausage see the roll'

??????????!?!?!?!?!?

not funny, just awful, crap tv.

Forget for one second how offensive that actually is, but the whole thing was just cheap, and vile, and just shit.

gorionine · 02/01/2011 09:39

Never seen it. Is it a bit like "blind date"?

DrNortherner · 02/01/2011 09:42

Have you never seen any of the comedy written by Paddy McGuiness like Pheonix Nights? That is just his style, it's tongue in cheek.

TrinityMotherOfRhinos · 02/01/2011 09:42

'disgusting......'

itsohsoquiet · 02/01/2011 09:43

yes but for chavs

redderthanred · 02/01/2011 09:45

well, i just caught the end.

Theres about 30?? women all lined up, dressed like some kind of want to be jordans.

then this man comes down a shoot, to the ' let the sausage see the roll'

he does a bit of strutting about, if the women like him they keep their podium lights on, if they dont they turn it off.

The ' presenter' goes about asking why they have their light on, or off.

Then they find out a bit more about him then a bit more...

and then i dont know what happens as i only caught then last 5 mins or so.

Last nights gem said, on why he lived with a man who does all his housework, cleaning for him, that perhaps a woman would like to look after him and ' step up to the plate'

unbelieveable.

i think blind date was a lot more classy??? or maybe thats just through the haze of time?

redderthanred · 02/01/2011 09:47

ive seen phoenix nights, that was also rubbish. and so is peter kay.

But wasnt that late night channel 4 stuff anyway?

which is a little different to prime time, sat night, and new years day tv.

' let the sausage see the roll'

that is actually awful.

OP posts:
Animation · 02/01/2011 10:01

"Let the sausage see the roll"!!

Meaning - let the penis see the vagina?

On prime TV?

Good Grief!!

stoppinchingthedummy · 02/01/2011 10:03

oh please stop saying that line every time i read it i chuckle

its humour-maybe not your type - dont watch it then !!

meantosay · 02/01/2011 10:08

It's a horrible programme. Like a really downmarket 'Blind Date'.

Simmylou · 02/01/2011 10:17

Found it vaguely amusing first series but the novelty has worn off now. Think it is/was a one-trick pony. Not enough substance.

redderthanred · 02/01/2011 10:20

well im presuming thats what it means.

Its just there was outrage after the xfactor rhianna, xtina thing, and then, a couple of weeks later theres the sausage thing.

Its just out of context, had it of been on the inbetweeners, fair enough, but a prime time, sat night ' dating' show.

I just think its awful and shite tv too for that matter.

OP posts:
grumpypants · 02/01/2011 10:26

Yeah, but it's not said every week, it's like 'let the dog see the rabbit' or something - just a jokey way of bringing the guy out. FGS blind date was horrible towards the end, loads of smutty innuendo. This is quite tame really. There is always going to be a forum for wannabes to get on telly; this at least does 31 in one go.

SheWillBeLoved · 02/01/2011 10:31

It's vile. Nothing more than a glorified meat market. How bloody desperate must you be before you sink to being rejected by often absolutely minging blokes week after week on national TV? Bleurgh.

redderthanred · 02/01/2011 10:38

yes, but let the dog see the rabit refers to something quite different doesnt it.

its not quite the same as a whole line up of over done up women, and saying, let the cock pick the vag - is it???

Its crass, and rude, and shockingly shite.

OP posts:
FunnyLittleFrog · 02/01/2011 10:43

It is complete shit and no mistake.

Paddy McGuiness didn't write any of Phoenix Nights did he? Thought he just got on it cos he's Peter Kay's mate.

Heroine · 02/01/2011 10:45

why isn't there a special channel called 'twat TV' or ITV3 or something

brimfull · 02/01/2011 10:49

disGustedGrin

JeezyPeeps · 02/01/2011 10:50

I wonder how it would be perceived if it was the other way around - 30 blokes and 1 girl.

They probably wouldn't do that in case all the lights went out and the girl started crying....
