I have recently had a baby so am very self conscious about my body and whether he sees me as woman or mummy .. But still ...

I bought slanket before Christmas for myself. It's horrible never worn it, I'd give it away for free. It's just not all that and vile.

I'd be mortified. I got a gold Panadora bracelet, he has no imagination.

My Dad bought me a Slanket, I never asked for one, or even wanted one, but now I'm in love with it!
I wear it, DS snuggles up in it with me and we lay on the sofa, I can MN and he watches Christmas films.
No doubt DH will have a turn when he's home in a couple of months aswell!

Its the kind of thing I wouldn't go out and buy myself but love that someone else has bought me one!

I love my slanket and my husband bought it for me as a present last year....it's fab and I am thankful that he listened to my moaning about being cold and wanted me to be warm and cosy while sitting beside him. You'll be converted to it.... most of my mates have them and we are all different ages.

If it was your main present then YANBU, but since it wasn't then YAB very U.

thanks ladies... He is a fab dh ... I think I am insecure right now - seven weeks post delivery - my body looks like a war zone ..and I am worrying about what he thinks of me ..the slanket I guess kind of confirmed my worst fears that he sees me as a cosy mummy type these days and nothing else...

YABU and not all presents should be seen as a reflection of what he thinks of you in the carnal sense. I think they look sensible and also a super cool present in anyone's stocking. He tried, he loves you.

He probably loves seeing you as a cosy mummy who is warm and happy... as well as seeing you in plenty of other ways too.

How would you have reacted if he had bought you a set of sexy underwear? You would probably have bitten his head off and he may be sensitive enough to have been thinking this, and tried to get you something that would make you feel all snuggly and comfy.. I think its quite a loving gesture actually.

DH would hate it I had one he thinks I can still dress like I did 20 years ago!!

I too got a slanket for christmas, it's the most fought after thing in the house at the mo

I had no idea what a Slanket was... but now I know and I'm not going to buy my wife one, however I will get the Siamese-Slanket 'cos that's romantic and we get to share the weird blanket/sleeve thing...

Mind you I'm not completely sure a couple of jumpers wouldn't be better...

I got two last year.

One was from SIL (in cream)

The other was my MAIN present from DH (in pink).

We are both sitting here as I speak, me under the pink slanket, him under the cream.

We could feature on one of those 'Love is...' valentines cards.
