To not like BIL snooping around our house

At ds's birthday party last month (dh's) BIL refused to use the downstairs guest bathroom & kept going upstairs to use the main bathroom - found this odd but fair enough , everyone else was happy to stay downstairs & use the bathroom . Later that night when everyone had gone home i noticed the attic door was fully open Hmm now this door is high up in the ceiling with no stair access so difficult to open (you would need to stand on the stair banister to get up there or get a ladder and the spare bedroom door was also open (junk room always locked )
We said nothing to Bil but now its DD's birthday party on Thursday & BIl will be here again & i am sooo tempted to bring it up in a jokey kind of manner ( something like "oh we must have some v strong mice in the attic as they are able to open the doors") but dh doesn't want me to .
What do you think ?

OK Sugar - had thought some things were banned (or maybe just banned in UK as they seem to have slightly different rules in N America) or it may depend on how the items are described as to whether they get the attention of the Ebay staff.

lol OK i am going to stick a note in my knicker drawer Grin & look into some sort of alarm that can go on the attic door .
I will try & update on Thursday but im worried he will behave himself this time & there will be no more drama to report Blush

Maybe wait for him to go into the attic and lock him in it for the remainder of the party.....that way it will stop him snooping anywhere else in the house Grin

hellymelly · 28/12/2010 20:51

Marking my place for Thursday.....

Ladyofthehousespeaking · 28/12/2010 20:58

taintedsnow · 28/12/2010 21:09

Ooh, I bet you didn't start this thread expecting to be hoping your BIL goes snooping! I'm quite excited to read what happens now!

I'm more of the school of telling him not to snoop around your house. It's your home and you have the right to restrict who goes in certain areas of your home. Failing that, mousetraps around the opening of the loft hatch.....

SarahStrattonsBaubles · 30/12/2010 16:07

I have brought wine and pringles.

GentleOtter · 30/12/2010 17:05

Do you think OP is sitting up in the loft waiting?

SarahStrattonsBaubles · 30/12/2010 18:26

I hope she's going to update us.

Mowiol · 30/12/2010 18:48

This is so hilarious ......... I have visions of OP wearing a Columbo outfit cross-examining the BIL about his movements (no pun intended!)

grumpypants · 30/12/2010 18:52

How funny - I am waiting with bated breath!

onadietcokebreak · 30/12/2010 18:59

I want an update too!

sixpercenttruejedi · 30/12/2010 19:02

I've been refreshing this thread all day, don't know how much more suspense I can take.
