...not really family viewing? I've barely watched x-factor in my life but I had thought everyone said that, for all its faults, it was something that had got families watching telly together. I was expecting wholesome boy bands and gutsy young girls. Clearly I'm naive and a prude.

Amijee- maybe our kids can go into care together while we go to r&b clubs and pornificate ourselves?
I should really e arrested because sometimes I listen to r&b and I'm pregnant, the poor baby will come out booty shaking

MollieO · 11/12/2010 22:08

aimjee yes I have.

notjustapotforsoup · 11/12/2010 22:08

I'd be much happier if there were more male crotch shots. Proper ones, with a definite hint of cock. If we are going to the dogs, let's make it equal opportunity dogness. Because I can't see how the tide is going to be stemmed.

CommanderDrool · 11/12/2010 22:09

I don't want my little girls watching a burlesque show. I don't. It's that simple. It's not 'empowering', it's grown women shaking their arses for money.

That came on with no warning, parents had no chance to decide whether it was appropriate for their child.

The public trusts broadcasters to honour the watershed but ITV seemed to have forgotten about that.

Ladyofthehousespeaking · 11/12/2010 22:09

Didn't take that get naked with jam smothered over their bums?

amijee · 11/12/2010 22:09

Actually we are all in our pyjamas as it's just before bed time!

So should I also be referred to ss for singing really loudly "your sex is on fire" in front of my kids?

Ormirian · 11/12/2010 22:09

Not even pissed off TBH. Just bored and irritated in my case. It's pathetic. Ooh look I've got tits and hips Hmm So fucking what? So have I ? So has every woman. But do you know the truly amazing thing, the really mind- blowing thing, some women actually have more going on than that. They have things that are more important in their lives than how sexy they are.

FrustratedHippy · 11/12/2010 22:10

very glad my kids don't have tv at times like this
tabouleh love your post

HerBeatitude · 11/12/2010 22:10

Absolutely soup.

Let's see Matt Cardle shake his crotch around.

corlan · 11/12/2010 22:11

You can complain to OFCOM which regulates what is broadcast here

It shouldn't have been shown pre-watershed.It's cynical and it's part of all the malign influences that are acting to sexualise children too early and causing girls to think that all their worth is in how sexy they are.

oneortwo · 11/12/2010 22:11

it was not a burlesque show anyway. neither the outfits or dancing were burlesque style

CommanderDrool · 11/12/2010 22:12

Oh I would love that

FrustratedHippy · 11/12/2010 22:13

i loathe this 'you shun pornography therefore you are a prude' bullshit

no i have not been to lap dancing club
no i never will
yes i know what goes on there

oh 'yes' I do like sex - just not pornography

walkinginaWUKTERwonderland · 11/12/2010 22:13

But Orm don't you realise that there is nothing more important than how fuckable you appear to strangers?

shodatin · 11/12/2010 22:14

Watching it, I thought the show was aimed at men rather than families - not a comfortable feeling.

Ormirian · 11/12/2010 22:14

Of course, how could I forget Hmm

walkinginaWUKTERwonderland · 11/12/2010 22:16

Yes, shodatin, I'm extremely uncomfortable with showing material that's designed to arouse and titillate men to children.

walkinginaWUKTERwonderland · 11/12/2010 22:17

Know your place Orm.

It's no longer the kitchen - we've moved on!

notjustapotforsoup · 11/12/2010 22:17

Who buys their music? Who are Christina and Rihanna aiming their appearances at?

amijee · 11/12/2010 22:18

Really? My DH used to get turned on by sarah Jayne in C beebies.

Earplugs · 11/12/2010 22:18

YANBU I also thought it crossed the line, ok the clothes were bad but it was the close up camera shots of the dancers crotches both from the front and behind. I was only watching with DH, and I felt like I was in a pole dancing club rather than my front room. I will also complain.

walkinginaWUKTERwonderland · 11/12/2010 22:18

At a guess - teenage girls who want to emulate them, Notjustapot.

MollieO · 11/12/2010 22:19

I should say that I have only been to a lap dancing club once, in Manhattan, when Stringfellows first opened there and we were invited (office near the venue). Went for free drinks and curiousity. Thought it was all rather meh. I wasn't a parent then but if I had been I wouldn't have taken my children. [fbear]

walkinginaWUKTERwonderland · 11/12/2010 22:20

Amijee - that's relevant how?

notjustapotforsoup · 11/12/2010 22:20

Well, quite, wukter. It's not even targeted towards men. How fucked up is that?
