...and have rotten eggs and tomatos thrown at them.
How dare they go on holiday and be allowed to have christmas presents etc
They should live on bread and dripping.

2shoes well said! Grin im sending u a 'virtual' round of applause. I really dont know how or why these posters are able to be sooo abusive about people in the minority but i suppose its easy to kick people when they're down AngryI think if it was any other 'group' mn hq would not have them on here.

GotArt · 03/12/2010 22:42

Salsmum: Indeed, it is a disgrace that the people that need it aren't getting it because there are too many lazy fuckers sucking it up. I was panned outside a laundrette a few weeks ago by someone looking for lunch money. After I said I didn't have any cash, she accosted me for having a car and no cash. I pointed at the 'full time help wanted' on the door of the laundrette. She laughed and said she wasn't going to do that job and panned the next bloke that was walking by. WTF!

2shoesnightmarebeforechristmas · 03/12/2010 22:45

salsmum lol I am normally politer, but ffs some people don't deserve it

salsmum · 03/12/2010 22:54

I think we need to get things into prespective.
I know a couple who have 7 kids, in their 20s and were boastin on FB that they'de bought the kids expensive xmas gifts in sept, niether of them have worked since school Angry BUT I dont judge ALL parents in the same way just the same as people shouldn't judge ALL peeps on benefits AND carers in the same way because of a few reported 'disabled'Hmmpeople photographed playing rugby, badminton etc when they're supposed to be severely disabled.
Because these idiots are few (thankfully) thats why they make news. The carers and their charges i've met are good, honest, decent people who, unfortunatly, DO NOT get the support they deserve. I might add that I recently attended a help for heros ball in which the forces were relying on charities/donations to help our boys who are injured during fighting so please dont get me started! Angry

Why is it so not ok for someone to think that lots of tenners added up could be better spent elsewhere in society? I don't get it.

Personally, I don't mind whether people get it or not, I think probably disability related benefits should, but possibly not others. But even then, I feel that people on disability related benefits should not need the tenner for enything other than frivolous stuff, because their heating, transport costs etc should be properly met in the first place.

I definately don't think people on certain benefits should be going on holiday, which is where this whole thread came from.

But I don't understand why it's so wrong for someone to have the opinion that a Christmas tenner is unneccesary. (sp?)

pagwatch · 03/12/2010 22:55

I love all the tales of gurning scroungers. They are always so fit for purpose .. A help wanted sign just right there next to guffawing scroungers who no doubt wandered away with a mwahahahaha....
That sort of thing never plays out for me quite so well. Well sometimes on tv

salsmum · 03/12/2010 22:56

2shoes here here!Wink

byrel · 03/12/2010 22:57

I don't agree with cupcake or lifeforrent but they are entitled to those views. I don't get why some people are being so abusive towards them

salsmum · 03/12/2010 23:00

curlymama I think if you read ALL posts it is aimed at only certain 'groups' of people who are receiving the £10 such as the disabled who cannot work.

2shoesnightmarebeforechristmas · 03/12/2010 23:01

sorry I was just falling on the floor at the idea of the idea of people with disabilities needs being met, so that they didn't need the extra £10........

pagwatch · 03/12/2010 23:01

People with disabilities are some of the most disadvantaged in all of our society. People with sn and no other issues die younger than average population.

People withbdisabilities face challenges that others frequently cannot begin to understand.

Saying that you begrudge a tenner at Christmas on a thread about putting people in stocks is a bit... I'll timed.

I hadn't connected this thread with any other. I just thought it was a vent about the shit that pee on benefits get on here . People can raise it if they like but I can regard them as small minded arses for doing so.

judasisacarrot · 03/12/2010 23:02

fgs i can only keep up with one thread kicking off a time.

so cupcakes has a pal in her ignorant rantings then does she.

oh well, daily mail have to be read by someone

2shoesnightmarebeforechristmas · 03/12/2010 23:02

byrel well the reason they get abuse is cos if you talk shit you deserve it back.

pagwatch · 03/12/2010 23:03

Yes
They are entitled to the view
I am entitled to voice my opinion of that view
It is the way it works

LadyGolden · 03/12/2010 23:04

I think this is horrible, I'm a housewife NOT on benefits as my hubby owns his own business but my mother is on benefits as she is severely disabled from having polio and meningitis when she was 5 she has no use of her right arm and limited use of her left because she has been using just the one for most of her life. My father worked for years but had to stop to take care of my mum as she finds it hard to do simple things everyday. She always feels so humiliated when people like you guys speak like this I do understand that there are scroungers about but spare a thought for the people who really NEED that help especially at this time of year when they feel guilt ridden for spending their benefits on Christmas. Should she have to spend every penny she gets on the basics and not enjoy her life. Just think...

byrel · 03/12/2010 23:04

Do they deserve it though, all they seem to be saying is they don't agree with people on benefits getting bonuses at christmas. I don't agree with them but I don't think they should be abused for their view

pagwatch · 03/12/2010 23:04

My typing is getting worse. I am peeing on benefits now.
Some will be happy I guess

curlymama · 03/12/2010 23:05

Salsmum, I did read the whole thread, but I must have missed it if it said somewhere that only the disabled and carers get the £10. But then I didn't even know it existed until reading this thread.

So do you mean that people on JSA don't get it then?

Sorry for being so ignorant, I'm lucky enough to never have needed to claim.

salsmum · 03/12/2010 23:05

CM the heating and transport costs are NOT being properly met! which is why people are getting so angry and I can assure you there is no extra cash for 'frivolous' stuff trust me.

curlymama · 03/12/2010 23:06

I do believe that Salsmum, it's wrong and makes me sad and angry.

pagwatch · 03/12/2010 23:07

That is fine byrel
I don't think that people who ff should be abused, or who Wohm , or read the Daily Mail. But I don't feel strongly about those issue. So it is not my call
Is it?

judasisacarrot · 03/12/2010 23:12

curlymama - the only people that get the £10 bonus are people on the benefits i listed earlier.

they are people who are disabled or widowed.

wewishyouamerrylissiemas · 03/12/2010 23:13

byrel, they are voicing nasty bigoted opinions about vulnerable members of society based on inaccurate facts and things theyve read in the daily mail. would it be ok for them to say "dirty forriners are coming in here and ruining our country, bringing their 75 kids and claiming benefits to send home"

no because its untrue and racist, but its ok to tar every claimant with the "workshy, feckless scrounger" brush because they are "just voicing their opinions"?

people have tried to set them straight on the facts, but you can only go so far before you say "fuck off"

curlymama · 03/12/2010 23:15

Ahh, I did see that bit! Xmas Blush Brain is slightly frazzled at the moment.
