...and have rotten eggs and tomatos thrown at them.
How dare they go on holiday and be allowed to have christmas presents etc
They should live on bread and dripping.

Oooh gwan then, I'll go in the stocks....
But you'll have to take care of the kids whilst I'm there.

Watch out though, two of them are violent, they headbutt, bite and kick, and two self harm. Oh, and one likes to experiment with jumping in front of traffic and into ponds etc as he doesn't realise what the consequences are.

Have fun!

thefirstMrsDeVere · 03/12/2010 22:14

Ta Pag I fancy a nice new hat. I could use DS's DLA to buy it when Ive bought me fags and skunk.

Thank you Speedy. I have never been called dignified before, it feels very nice.

But then compared to others on this thread, Katie Price is dignified.

Fucking HO HO HO about tax payers v 'the disabled'

We are both and will be until the last knockings. When my lovely OH cant work any more and I have to leave my fantastic job (working with more fucking scroungy parents of parasitic disabled children ironically) I promise I will beat myself about the head daily with a salvaged copy of the Daily Mail to remind my self of my sins.
Do you think there is a chance, as I am 43, that I may have subsidised the university education of some of the unpleasant posters on here?

Wouldnt that be ironic?

GotArt · 03/12/2010 22:16

I am having this issue with my sister. Her and her DP have been on welfare for 15 years! They are both able to work, even though he is technically illiterate (sorry, but you don't need to read (in English even) to sweep a floor) and she is too lazy to hold a job longer than 6 weeks. She was a telemarketer and quit because she was tired of being hung up on. Hmm She quit another job after 6, 4 hour shifts over a 3 week period because her feet hurt standing as a cashier. She just told me all about the presents they are getting their two kids and some other people, merchandise well over $1000 mark and then had the audacity to say it was unfair that as a needy family, they don't get gifts for the kids in their Christmas food hamper. Hmm They are out there, sucking up your taxes, those lazy fuckers.

pagwatch · 03/12/2010 22:17

Actually I am perfectly content to be abusive.
What kind of cock begrudged people with life affecting disabilities a tenner at Christmas.

That is some fucked up shit

You know, LFR, Ian Usher - the man who put his life up for rent on eBay (I assume that's what inspired your name?) had a great idea. And the person who 'bought' his life hopefully had an eye-opening experience, seeing first-hand what someone else's life is like. I hope it changes them for the good. You should try it sometime.

And in the meantime, you really should watch 'The Diving Bell', as Kerry suggested. It is a brilliant film and will tell you a hell of a lot that you don't know about disability and, well, life.

I'm leaving this thread now as it's turned into a catfight. I do hope, though, LFR, that you're actually just a wind-up merchant. Much as I celebrate diversity of opinion, there are some opinions which don't "deserve" to be held.

salizchap · 03/12/2010 22:17

KerryMumbles, obviously you have never been really poor. I have, and believe, me, when you are counting every single penny, a tenner can go a long way.

That might be very difficult for someone to understand if they haven't been in the situation where they literally have NOTHING in their pocket till next pay day, 10 days away.

MerrilyDefective · 03/12/2010 22:20

OH
MY
GOD
I went and made dinner(or should that be supper?)
Watched 'I'm a celebrity'

And this has kicked orf.

It was a response to a nasty earlier thread about people on benefits going on holiday and getting 'nice' cars.

Other people's benefits DON'T come out of MY pocket.
I think EVERYONE should be able to have a holiday.
What people spend their money(benefits) on is not my business.

Oh I've had enough. Some thoroughly unpleasant people about at the moment.
Good thing its the XF thread tomorrow and I can practise being mean.

salizchap · 03/12/2010 22:20

Would you rather I took away your tenner, then?

I love the DM, tis great for wiping your arse!!!

salizchap · 03/12/2010 22:26

FWIW, I have also been rock bottom, with nothing, after EX H left me and DS. After a few weeks of struggling across a foreign city with a trolley full of charity food every week for a month, and having a church pay to keep the roof over our heads, a tenner would have been a relief and a luxury.

I know it's not much, but now i am working, I wouldn't begrudge it to anyone. I am sorry it really isn't more. But there is a limit.

MerrilyDefective · 03/12/2010 22:27

I'd say dinner but then we might set off a huge disagreement on the whys that is completely right/wrong... probably something like 'saying dinner is so middle class and supper is what people on benefits have' Xmas Grin

pagwatch · 03/12/2010 22:28

Instead of 'having a go' at disabled people I think its a disgrace that they do only get £10 my daughter is severly disabled with CP and gets very cold (because she cannot walk to keep warm) her £10 pittance will go into the gas meter to keep her warm with the central heating, because unlike some people she doesnt qualify for cold weather payments and £10 will keep her warm for a day and for your information because i work AS A CARER and earn £100 a week i am not entitled to carers allowance because both myself and my partner care for my daughter. He cannot work because he looks after my daughter when im at work.... and is not entitled to benefits.so which part of we aint living a life of Rielly do ops on here NOT understand??????? £10 IS NOT A GREAT DEAL OF MONEY TO HAVE.. PLUS my daughter requires an electric bed, electric lift, and an electric wheelchair so household bills such as HEATING and ELECTRICITY are used more because they are a daily neccessity Angry
