...and have rotten eggs and tomatos thrown at them.
How dare they go on holiday and be allowed to have christmas presents etc
They should live on bread and dripping.

I am a carer, a tenner wont make a difference to my Christmas. Would not mind if i didn't get it.

However, i see it as a little gift from the government as i save them around £2,500 a month in carers for my husband.

I would love to go get a job, earn a good wage, but i look after him.

pagwatch · 04/12/2010 08:45

goat, then report your sister but stop extrapolating that because you feel your sister is claiming that which she shouldn't, that there are swathes of others . When you do that you encourage other cock knobs to try and assess anyone else they know who gets benefits.
It becomes a perfect circle of I'll informed judgement.

It leads to the kind of urban myths of people in ferraris begging on their days off, being rude to honest johns and rolling their eyes at 'help wanted' signs. All usually shite spouted by those who feel bitter for some reason.

And personally I would rather be someone who has have a large arse than begrudge poor people a break.

expatinscotland · 04/12/2010 09:24

GotArt, you sound like you really hate your sister, who also lives in a foreign country and therefore uses a foreign welfare system of which no one here probably has much in-depth knowledge.

So why not report her to the Canadian authorities and get some counselling to deal with how much you despise her and her lazy fatness. Hmm

LifeForRent · 04/12/2010 09:54

Sorry I had a life to attend to briefly. That's over now.

I read up the majority of responses. My point is nothing to do with sob stories or disabled people I'm sure their life is very difficult etc. My point is, NO ONE "deserves" or is "entitled" to ANY benefit of any kind. Some people should thank their stars that this "bastard" government is paying for them to have a quality of life, regardless of transport/heating bills etc.

As someone pointed out in other countries you'd be left out to die. We live in a privileged society (albeit paid for begrudgingly by the likes of yours truly) so perhaps some gratitude for what you get would be refreshing. Rather than kicking off that you may or may not "deserve" £10 more in December. I'd quite like a tax break, £10 here or there would fix that, sadly that doesn't happen due to the drain on our funds as it is. PLenty of disabled people work, I have to be served by them in supermarkets from time to time...my sister has Downs, she works and doesn't get a penny. My elder sister is in a wheelchair, she works AND DOESN'T CLAIM A PENNY. And both of them would probably laugh at the notion of "poor pitiful me, I need £10 extra". There are people who are able to work and could also do with an extra tenner come Christmas. It isn't a right an entitlement or a reward. If you want extra spends at Christmas, save up.

pagwatch · 04/12/2010 09:59

I disagree. People who cannot manage alone deserve the best that their community\ society can give them.
Your sisters are probably the norm - unless you think that your family has some kind of superior work ethic ?

People want to be independent but if they can't society should help to the best of it's ability. Otherwise we are scum

ShittySnowyDays · 04/12/2010 10:00

I'm on IS.

I cannot see how anyone on any benefits can spend hundreds or even thousands on Christmas etc.

Mine have had £30 each spent on them...on things from car boot sales.

I would never ever begrudge anyone on disability a bloody tenner. If the social said my money was being docked so these people that damn right need it would have something extra to help them I would not grumble. Because they need it.

2shoesnightmarebeforechristmas · 04/12/2010 10:01

lifefor rent, so my dd can work??
you are making stupid statements, some people are to disabled to work, and should be supported.
so run along dear, you talk crap

pagwatch · 04/12/2010 10:02

I really really hope that none of the ' they are not entitled' brigade claim, or have ever claimed, child benefit.
They would be the biggest fucking hypocrites if they have.

Please just confirm that, any of you, in your next ' they shouldn't get this' posting - if you wouldn't mind

ShittySnowyDays · 04/12/2010 10:03

Pag, of course they claim/have claimed it. Free money innit

Who is giving a fucking sob story on here then?

Listen you are not the only person who pays tax, both myself and DH have our whole lives!

We have paid into the country and he is now too ill to work! He cant fucking breath! And now like an insurance policy you pay into he has been "pensioned off" Not his bloody idea!

He was medically discharged from work!

And by the way, you would pay the same amount of tax if 3 or 3000 people claimed DLA!

Some people are utter tossers!

Sorry for the language girls!

Hopelesslydisorganised · 04/12/2010 10:29

Lifeforrent - I expect my DS will work when he is adult enough to do so just as I work. On the other hand if his disabilities mean he cannot work then I am utterly grateful we have Governments (both Labour and Tory) who support those that need this.

This country has much to be proud of. It should not be proud of you though as evidently despite growing up in this country (I assume) you begrudge anything to those who cannot support themselves. That is TRULY something to feel ashamed of.

Your opinbions sicken me and thsoe of other "normal" people. But then you are not a real person are you - showed up just after cupcake (or whatever her name was) to agree with her. Suspect actually you are one and the same. Bye and Merry Christmas - thanks for the £10 - I didn't need it and wouldn't have missed it but many here DID need it and are grateful for it.

I hope you spent it wisely and are properly grateful Riven. Lifeforrent will be annoyed if not. Actually s/he's annoyed you got it in the first place so maybe spending it on booze would get the goat more.

No, I say we need to eat the rich, they are the ones who cause all the trouble.

2shoesnightmarebeforechristmas · 04/12/2010 11:27

KerryMumbles your right, I think dd would be good at directing traffic as with her extra movements, the traffic would have to move quickly

what a shame my post was deleted, but hopefuly life thingy read it as I stand by it.

Kaloki · 04/12/2010 12:03

I like how, despite being told multiple times, some idiots are still convinced that the extra £10 is most likely to go on presents. Rather than say, transport (higher over Xmas) or heating.
