elc have removed the pig from the happy land farm set as it may offend some religious groups!- i.e muslim and jewish. so am i wrong to suggest that maybe we should not have farm sets because it could offend veggies, the cows could offend hindus and maybe the sheep could offend the welsh???

The Jewish/Muslim dislike of pork has more to do with a hot climate than a religious foible. It's just been dressed up that way over the centuries.

To dislike a pig is a ridiculous notion. To dislike its meat is more understandable, but I'm certain the animal needs a little more respect than people give it.

To my knowledge it was took out because of comments from customers of the overseas branches. It's weird I'd only just found out that the pig was missing when a customer mentioned it to me the other week and I suggested she contact HO for the reason. Am now wondering if it was my customer that went to the press!

If ELC remove them from farm role play toys, then it is an unfair representation! I am a Christian and I am offended!
