Libyan "stolen" children

Arthur62 · 06/11/2010 09:45

There seems to be a lot of hype concerning children who are living with their fathers' in Libya. Mothers' are claiming that these children are stolen but surely these children are just simply living with one of their parents. It happens all the time in England when the mother steals the children from the father.

what do you mean spot on chicken

You are advocating taking children away from their mothers!!

byrel · 06/11/2010 11:35

I don't think that it is natural that a woman is the primary carer for a children its a cultural thing. The custody of a child should be decided on who can care and support the child best, not whether they are male or female.

aristomache · 06/11/2010 11:35

right, I really am done with this now, arthur62 is clearly spoiling for a fight.

happy thread y'all Grin

ChickensHaveNoLips · 06/11/2010 11:37

Er, no I'm not.

Kitta · 06/11/2010 11:38

Other than the fact that I think you just here to shit stir, I do agree that no parent what ever the gender has the right to prevent the child from seeing being in contact with the other. (Though obviously in situations of DV/ abuse it?s all different)
However I would also question the motive of any parent who would take/ steal their child and take them in to a country where if they are girls at best they will be treated as second class people, at worst will have many of their human rights denied to them. And if they are boys to be brought up to continue this attitude.

aristomache · 06/11/2010 11:39

no I meant him sorry for the confusion.

he's advocating taking children away from their mothers, whilst agreeing with you!!

You're point is fair and valid, his is not.

Arthur62 · 06/11/2010 11:39

I'm not spoiling for a fight at all. it's called a debate. Sorry you see this as a personal insult. If you are going to leave this thread please make you mind up because it looks as though you are very indecisive.

Who said I was a man or woman? Is it relevant and do mothers on here always swear and insult people they disagree with? very sad really isn't it?

OP posts:
FlameGrilledMama · 06/11/2010 11:51

I am sorry for my personal attack I have reported the post Blush must be PMT Grin

Arthur62 · 06/11/2010 11:53

Some of the comments and rhetoric on here demonstrates that some mothers do not deserve to have children in their care at all.

ChickensHaveNoLips · 06/11/2010 11:55

Oh Arthur, you are definitely on the wind up. Really, if you'd done your research, you'd know that a better way to start a ruck on here is to mention benefits, fruitshoots, getting your newborn's ears pierced and being a member of the BNP in your opening post. Then you'd probably run to 1000+ posts.

FlameGrilledMama · 06/11/2010 11:58

Or breast v formula, natural v csec, WM v SAHM, there are numerous really.

Arthur62 · 06/11/2010 12:01

Or primeval v common sense?

ChickensHaveNoLips · 06/11/2010 12:02

Not to forget the contentious issues of mother and baby parking, baby changing facilities in disabled toilets and the perils of sleep training. All guaranteed a lot of bang for your bucks. As it were.

Arthur62 · 06/11/2010 12:05

Give me time and I will address each if you want, however, I feel you have the monopoly on such matters and are of no consequence to me. You can chat about such trivialities if you wish.
