Thank you BeerTricks Smile

I love words...I think "hate" and "Vengeance" are far worse than cunt. I have banned my daughters from using them...but not cunt.

PlentyOfPockets · 03/11/2010 20:12

Don't worry, DP, I always say it with a posh accent Grin

GetOrfMoiLand · 03/11/2010 20:56

lol

How the buggery bollocks can you ban it in daylight hours only.

So you start a thread at midnight 'the next door neighbour's cats are a bunch of cunts'

Come 8am in the morning, MN magical watershed comes into effect and thread title changes to 'the next door neighbour's cats are a bunch of oojamaflopsits'

GetOrfMoiLand · 03/11/2010 20:58

DP - you are a chelsea supporter. If you haven't stood up at Stamford Bridge and called Theirry Henry or someone a cunt in your time I'll eat my hat.

AnyFawker · 03/11/2010 21:02

"nanny Rooney"

sounds like Wayne's latest girlfriend

scottishmummy · 03/11/2010 21:05

aye,was at pains to clarify nanny rooney isnae the gran

MoralDefective · 03/11/2010 21:09

Just read this..
Gropecunt lane?..Fabulous...
When did 'they' get rid of it??

MoralDefective · 03/11/2010 21:10

Nanny Rooney?
I also though Wayne's new GF.

scottishmummy · 03/11/2010 21:14

nanny rooney and the big bang a dribbling dominatrix.

openerofjars · 03/11/2010 21:20

D'you know, I used to find the word 'cunt' kind of offensive, but since joining Mumsnet I've seen it in print so many times it's more like punctuation to me now, a bit like 'fuck'. Isn't that just gorgeous? MN has actually liberated me from jumping ten foot when randoms yell things in the street. Makes me proud to.be here.

Animation · 03/11/2010 21:22

What's good about calling someone a vagina.

Kaloki · 03/11/2010 21:28

Animation tbh bastard is probably more offensive if we are going to go back to the original meanings of swearwords.

I actually know more women than men who use cunt as a swear word.

Bugrit · 03/11/2010 21:40

This thread is hilarious. Cunts, cats, feminism, Islam and Wayne Rooney!

JaneS · 03/11/2010 21:43

Ani - what's bad about calling someone one? Anyway, it cunt a synonym for vagina? I thought it was more the whole area.

DP, what do you call your lady bits then?

daftpunk · 03/11/2010 21:49

Don't you think that's a bit forward?

JaneS · 03/11/2010 21:52

In this context? No! I figured if you were on this debate talking about what your husband doesn't like you to call it, you presumably didn't mind.

There just doesn't seem to be another good word for it, if you see what I mean, and at least this one originally meant something rather nice, which vagina doesn't really.

Mumcentreplus · 03/11/2010 21:54

I don't call my lady parts a cunt..far too vulgar..I'm not particularly impressed by cunt as a word..it grates..but I deal

daftpunk · 03/11/2010 22:08

I didn't enter this debate to discuss what my husband calls my lady bits, I entered to add my disapproval of the use of swear words in thread titles. ( not sure how I managed to end up talking about Islam )

look, if swearing was socially acceptable you'd have it in the media wouldn't you. Newsreaders would describe Wayne Rooney as; "that ugly fucker" Marks & spencers would describe their food as: " the dogs bollocks" that doesn't happen because swearing is unacceptable in civilised society.

JaneS · 03/11/2010 22:12

Fair enough. I was just trying to understand why you thought it was such an unacceptable word. The point is, as it stands in the title, she's not using it as a swear word, is she?

I think the lack of swearing in the media is more to do context: newsreaders are meant to sound impartial so tend to avoid any very personal comments. I think they'd avoid 'ugly' as much as 'fucker'. But I guess that's a side point.

2shoes · 03/11/2010 22:16

yabu
I couldn't care less if kids see it (no more than I will not talk about the non reality of FC just in case) as this is a web site for adults. but tbh if you can't do a thread title without having to resort to using the C word, you need to buy a dictionary.

daftpunk · 03/11/2010 22:24

No, but it's in the thread title.

And yes I know newsreaders have to be impartial (although we all know the BBC is run by left- leaning liberals) I was exaggerating slightly.

Anyway, time to get some sleep.

AnyFawker · 03/11/2010 22:26

since when was MN civilised ?

DP...you do make me larf

daftpunk · 03/11/2010 22:34
