Is it not ok to take the piss out of Waitrose on MN ....."

You are not having a dig at Waitrose in the OP. You are having a dig at MNers who use Waitrose. Very different distinction.

tethersend · 01/11/2010 21:04

Heard in Waitrose holloway rd:

"Allegra, Allegra, put that down!"

"Your name is not Superman, it's Isaac"

In fact, when thinking of names for DD, we wondered which supermarket you'd most likely hear it yelled in.

(Sainsburys BTW)

ladylush · 01/11/2010 21:04

And it is not ok to take the piss out of Boden either.

VinegarTits · 01/11/2010 21:05

Waitrose - pretentiuos prats
Asda - Chavs
Aldi - old or skint
Netto - on benefits
Sainsburys - middle class nobs
Morrisons - inbetweeners with nowhere else to go
Tescos - working class whores

cornsilkpyrotechnicqueen · 01/11/2010 21:05

heard in tesco
'Demi, get over 'ere now'
Dh and I ahve been chuckling about that ever since (was about 15 years agoHmm)

ladylush · 01/11/2010 21:05

iceland - kerry katona

cornsilkpyrotechnicqueen · 01/11/2010 21:06

waitrose shoppers guilty of loud parenting though, so do deserve some punishment

phipps · 01/11/2010 21:07

The Asda one wasn't rude as the OP just likes being controversial for the sake of it. surely no one is like that for real.

VinegarTits · 01/11/2010 21:07

i shop at Booths or Co-op btw tis where the normal folk shop

cornsilkpyrotechnicqueen · 01/11/2010 21:08

we don't have booths
is it like the spar?

readywithwellies · 01/11/2010 21:08

I have completed mystery shops in Waitrose. Expensive and no better than the average supermarket IMO. Some good stuff, like all supermarkets.

ladylush · 01/11/2010 21:08

Booths? Never heard of it

sherby · 01/11/2010 21:09

God I hate ASDA it make me cry a little everytime I go in there

However the security guard in Waitrose regularly follows me around the shop in the styleof whats the time mister wolf so i'm not quite sure where I should be....

Asdashopper · 01/11/2010 21:09

People who shop in Asda were called Fat thickos if I recall ....

OP posts:
VinegarTits · 01/11/2010 21:09

BrownPaperBagOnMyHead · 01/11/2010 21:10

Booths is a Northern Posh chain

ladylush · 01/11/2010 21:11

Asda shopper - are you a fat thicko?
If not, I guess you have answered your own question Wink

ClaireDeLoon · 01/11/2010 21:11

I too shop at Asda (only supermarket I can get to from home without driving) and Waitrose (near my office) as well as my beloved ocado. But I am not guilty of loud parenting.

VinegarTits · 01/11/2010 21:11

You calling Northerners posh Shock

ladylush · 01/11/2010 21:12

Jetli - priceless Grin

cornsilkpyrotechnicqueen · 01/11/2010 21:12

I always feel that the checkout laydees are giving me a pitying look as they pass me the green token.
the checkout laydees in waitrose are all horsy sixth formers whereas in sainsbos they're sorting out their night on the lash across the tills

SaorAlba · 01/11/2010 21:12

Our nearest Waitrose is 98.44 miles away (just checked on their website) so I can honestly say I've never been in one. I've never even seen a Waitrose.

VinegarTits · 01/11/2010 21:12

pmsl at competitive supermarket shopping Grin

thisisyesterday · 01/11/2010 21:12

oh of course the asda one was rude.

just because it was started by her doesn't make it ok.
