arghhhh! i cant take the crying anymore so have escaped to the bedroom. dp has his friend over with new baby (4 weeks). baby has been screaming since 5 pm and is still screaming now!!! dp's friend is adamant the baby does not need feeding until 8pm and has just left the baby in the carseat!

i have put my dc to bed at 7pm and am dreaming of some peace. AIBU and should i say something or just keep my nose out?

depends on your view of routines. which is not what this thread is about.

Men can probably be a bit more direct in this situation. None of this hormonal thing. Hopefully he can just say "Babies need feeding regularly and making them wait is cruel"

serajen · 14/10/2010 13:11

poor poor baby

This is really sad.
So, clueless (and uncaring) first time dad, and antisocial mum of two?

I would definitely call the health visitor.... Sad

withorwithoutyou · 14/10/2010 13:22

Even more Confused I thought this was about not feeding hungry babies.

kate76 · 14/10/2010 17:16

the man sounds really emotionally detached from his baby. I can't imagine most mums siting there and watching their baby cry for 2 hours without doing anything about it...or at least, I hope not.

this thread has made me really sad. How can anyone, man or woman, watch their little baby be so distressed. Teeny tiny babies just need cuddles and lots of yummy milk!!!

Psychommead · 14/10/2010 17:23

If it's a routine then it's a shit one. Babies need food when they need it - I don't really care what anyone else says.

umf · 15/10/2010 14:47

Still distressed by this! And I'm with Kate76 - that's pretty peculiar, for a father to be able to sit in a room with a tiny baby screaming for 2 hours and not to be bothered by it.

"Hormones on my part overcame sense"

Sounds like perfect sense to me Graves. I would have done exactly the same as you
