Mitchum, smart solid deodorant for men (what's the difference for women?)

I bought two of these stick deodorants, the deodorant part fell off both of them, making them unusable, when I rolled it up, and no I didn't roll it up too much.

Anyone else?

Dyson Hoover. "No loss of suction" because there was very little suction in the first place. And before you tell me to "change the filter", it was rubbish from Brand New.

Katerlina · 11/10/2010 16:01

Tesco Classic Cat Food - it has the most disgusting smell of any pet food ever. Have a cat who will leave hers in the bowl for an hour or so - so that had to go.

Back to Felix...

LittleCheesyPineappleOne · 11/10/2010 16:02

YY to My First Readybed. Horrible nylon "sheets", deflates overnight.

Any home waxing strips. Last ones I tried were Veet, and they weren't cheap either. Ouch.

"The JML Magic Mat. Absolutle bollocks. Doesn't catch a bit of dirt. I've got a filthy hallway and an expensive hideous mat"

  • is that the one they say you can wash?

My Sister washed hers and had to have a new washing machine.

How about one of these these. We bought it in an attempt to stop DH buying bottled water and filling the fridge up with it. It makes the whole kitchen turn blue and makes the sound of jumbo jet on take off in its efforts to cool the water to a chilly - Brrrr!! Wait for it!! - 8 degrees. Yes, EIGHT degrees, much the same temperature as it comes out of the tap. (Fridge is 4 degrees) It filters the water too . . . but in our area you don't need a filter. When it broke after about 4 months; just sat there with its blue glow and its mighty racket, full of lukewarm water, we nearly threw a party.

MrsVidic · 11/10/2010 16:07

Gap childrens pyjama set- my dd was 10 months old/ 25 centile and the 12- 18 month short and t shirt combo was too small!

Vanish carpet shampoo-doesnt get rid of baby sick

maristella · 11/10/2010 16:08

Emmie31 i second that!
i have exactly the same machine and it's a bastard! when i first got it there was a problem with the dryer, it would get everything wetter than it was before. after several visits from hotpoint they replaced something faulty inside it and it's been ok since. before it was fixed i once took out some clothes i had been trying to dry and they were so wet they flooded the kitchen floor!
bummer was that as i wasn't able to get it installed within the 28 days i couldn't just get my moeny back on the heap of shit. never again!

Tokyo, I was suckered too. Glad i'm not the only muppet to fall for it. (tho I did haggle them down a bit)

passionberry · 11/10/2010 16:15

Emmie31 and Maristella - YY it's rubbish! The dryer bit never worked well and has now stopped heating up completely (I need to get it fixed but I resent paying money when it was crap in the first place!)

Hauck Dream N Play Travel Cot - Broke after 2nd usage!

onemoreriver · 11/10/2010 16:22

I must defend Mitchum. Yes, the sticks break but roll ons are good! Slow cookers are fab- make everything taste nicer and softer. You can leave stuff in for longer than they say in the recipes, and they are great for cooking double or triple and freezing! Am I sounding too evangelical?

APixieInMyTea · 11/10/2010 16:25

Loola Up pram/pushchair. What a complete waste of money that was. Angry
On the other hand my double is fantastic.

Ecover wash detergent. Smelt positively vile.

Anything by pampers and huggies. My ds1 gets an awful reaction to anything by them. Hence using washable now.

Which leads me onto my hotpoint ultima washer/dryer. I love mine.

cocolepew · 11/10/2010 16:29

I keep reading cillit bang as clit bag Hmm don't know what that says about me.

Moonsand and the pully hair clips shite from JML, it broke the first time I tried putting it in DDs hair, bloody beads everywhere.

GeekOfTheWeek · 11/10/2010 16:41

yy to the mitchum stick. Its shit.

LoubyLoubyLouLa · 11/10/2010 16:41

Agree with ready bed. Got ours from Argos and it stayed inflated for all of about an hour.

Wardrobe from mamas and papas, the worst quality the screws all rounded off and left me with a dangerous wobbly wardrobe.

Dry shampoo is great (but only if you're blond, otherwise you just end up looking like you have dandruff!)

notalone · 11/10/2010 16:56

Some tooth whitening thing from Pearl drops. Is a clear liquid that comes with a brush and it turns your teeth slighly grey and bumpy with the odd diamente like speck. Hideous and now binned

Casserole · 11/10/2010 17:07

Noooooooooooo, I love our readybed, has made it possible to stay anywhere overnight as DS loves getting into it so much!

perfumedlife · 11/10/2010 17:10

Grin PMSL at the dead sea mud. All you need are some salt crystals and olive oil, create a paste, it works wonders on the skin.

Dyson hoovers, all useless.
Ben 10 pinball game, for ages 7 and up- No, you need the strength of a navvy to pull the bloody cord. Rubbish

In defense of JML, their Magic Eraser is just brilliant, white hardish foam, you wet it and it takes all sorts of marks and pencil off the wall. Love it!

perfumedlife · 11/10/2010 17:12

Oh and I love Clarins but I cannot for the life of me see what all the fuss is about Beauty Flash Balm. Am i missing something, or expecting too much? It just feels like sticky moisturiser to me.

LoopyLoops · 11/10/2010 17:23

A friend of mine bought a (very expensive) Clarins facewash, only to discover it was alive. Moving. Insects were living in it.

satonthesofa ROFL at your description of a ready bed....how true.

Any kind of oven cleaner - they're all utter crap and none get the glass door clean.

eco bin bags

ridiculously expensive famous hairdresser shampoo

a raclette

foot spa

Miggsie · 11/10/2010 17:37

Silicon bakeware...bun tins etc, it may be me, it may be my oven but it DOESN'T cook better than metal, in fact it doesn't cook very well at all!!!!

nannynobnobs · 11/10/2010 17:39

Our toaster bags were 50p from B&M and they are grand :D
Vax bagless upright. Does NOT work on hard floors. Blows dust everywhere if you try- I have to clean the kitchen floor with the hose! Also, the transparent pipe at the back lets you SEE if it's blocked but doesn't let you unblock it without unscrewing around eight screws. Then when I screwed it back on it went crack.
Elefun- blows as hard as a centenarian trying to blow their 100 candles out... DD2 still loves it- I think it's rubbish.
Vanish is shit.

pacinofan · 11/10/2010 17:41

Daisy shoe with doll in heel - would not normally buy this (£34) and wish I hadn't, the sole where the pod is wears really, really badly so shoes need replacing quickly (or maybe IAMBU thinking shoes last longer than 4 months)?

Vanish stain remover

Ironing board cover that promises to 'iron' both sides

Vacuum/modern ewbank thing that regularly deposits its contents on my carpets

Washable nappies that claim not to leak - tried loads, spent loads, always leaked.

Cheese strings - revolting
