Obviously not to playgroups etc, but I've got a baby at home and don't think I can cope otherwise. Is there anywhere we can safely go where there won't be lots of kids/pregnant women?

OP posts:

Difficult though, BrightLight, given that MNHQ started them.

Yes - sorry that is was I meant. Aplogies - will leave well alone - missed all the stuff on this thread anyway.

Just think it is worrying that MNHQ do not feel that SS has had a bereavement. Her writing is beautiful and so real.

shabbapinkfrog · 03/10/2010 10:31

Another 70 posts and this thread will finally run out of space - I, for one, cant pissing wait!!

shabba, do you want help to kill this thread?

Goblinchild · 03/10/2010 10:33

Shouldn't take much of an effort to drop kick it into oblivion

fragola · 03/10/2010 10:33

Arses, as far as I'm aware, the risk from the cp vaccine and shingles isn't for those who have had the vaccine, it's for those who haven't. You can only develop shingles if you have previously had cp. Apparently for most people, occasional contact with cp once you've had it acts as a "booster" against shingles.

If you eradicate chicken pox it means that the people who have already had it won't get this natural booster and are more likely to develop shingles. It's likely then that cases of shingles would rise, before falling over a few generations.

Hope that makes sense.

Even if this thread is killed, another one will have to replace it as people want answers. It's human nature.

The job of educating people about the dangers of CP has been done as well as possible, and now it's time to stop the wondering

Goblinchild · 03/10/2010 10:35

I

Goblinchild · 03/10/2010 10:35

wondered

Goblinchild · 03/10/2010 10:35

Yes, that's fine and well and good, but people need to know whats going on with Sassy. We need answers from MNHQ. Filling the thread with gibberish isn't going to stop people speculating.

I for one would rather all the speculation stayed in the same place rather then over lots of thread on lots of boards.

Ah, I see.

Either way she sounds very troubled......leave well alone I say....no real point in speculating especially if their is a risk she's genuine and it could cause even more damage to the woman.

mamadiva · 03/10/2010 10:37

Seems very sad that all the useful and good information in this thread will be lost to what could well turn out to be a pointless and nasty argument/mistake.

Would it be a bad idea to start a new thread to highlight the reasons that we ALL need to look after not just our own children but also the wider community? Something with an obvious title so that when someone decides to ask about chicken pox (and hopefully searches MN) it will come up and give thejm the info they need?

I for one have learned a lot from the early parts, things I guess I was uneducated or ignorant about. Not quite sure which Blush

I don't post here very often I lurk mostly but I have to chip in this time .
If MNHQ have banned SS on the basis that they have an IP address that has previously used by a troll then they need to up their knowledge on IP addresses.

IP addresses are not unique to one person unless they own a static IP address, most people have a dynamic IP address which changes every time the reconnect to the internet and are assigned this new IP number, from one of the 'blocks' 'owned' by the new ISP, and someone else will get the IP number you had from your old
ISP.

If an ISP gives up some of the blocks of IP numbers it was allocated, or
if it stops trading completely, then those numbers will be available for
other businesses, including other ISPs.

So you could indeed 'inherit' an IP number from someone else who had it
before, and two customers of the same ISP might easily find
themselves sometimes getting an IP number recently used by the other.

IP number alone is not sufficient to identify 'the same person', all it
does is indicate a possibility.

deemented · 03/10/2010 10:39

No, but ten to one it'll be brought out here when someone says 'what happened to that thread..?'

So, MHNQ - How do you respond to what soggymaltedmilk says about ISP's?
