Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who enter the Gazebo and sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from CheerfulYank, gomummy, tired mum, Elmo, AF, HE, Cheesey and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all Smile

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up !

Elmo you forgot the and

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the web address (URL) surrounded by and . So type www.mumsnet.com to display a link like www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at this page", would display "Look at this page."

Am I the only one dreading the clocks changing tomorrow and the earlier wake up time? It takes me days to get the children to adjust to the Winter time Sad

OP posts:
Teaandcakeplease · 30/10/2010 21:17

Hmmm my link didn't work. LOL, right I've copied it from the address bar and will try again

gomummygo · 30/10/2010 22:04

I am SO looking forward to the time change tomorrow, actually, Tea. It's the spring one that drives us a bit bonkers and takes DS almost a week to adjust. Wonder if it's the same here as there? Our clocks go back an hour at 2am.

Teaandcakeplease · 30/10/2010 22:18

The clocks go back here and this is the one that my DCs take ages to adjust to, so theyll wake at 5.30am tomorrow as to them it's 6.30am. So I ought to get an early night Hmm

OP posts:
gomummygo · 30/10/2010 23:15

Ah yes, we are the same then Tea. DS is the other way around, has trouble getting to sleep at night in the spring when the clocks go ahead, regardless of when he gets up. Hmm

Hope it goes smoothly for you.

CheerfulYank · 01/11/2010 17:08

I also love the "fall back" time change. An extra hour, hurrah!

So, remember when I told you all that DS kept saying I was going to get in a car crash and I was freaked out? (He kept saying "the cars will crash") We got into an accident last weekend. Nothing too major (quite expensive damage to the car but we are all right and so was the driver of the other car, so everything is fine as far as I'm concerned!) I was hysterical of course but DS was very calm and didn't seem upset or anything at the time. Yesterday he walked up to the car and touched the headlight that was damaged and said, "The cars did crash," in exactly the same way he had before. Shock

I know I'm being woo but it threw me for a loop! Perhaps I should let him pick lottery numbers for me... :)

gomummygo · 01/11/2010 17:36

Shock Cheerful that is eerie. Would spook me for sure.

Sorry to hear about your accident, but glad you are all ok! Was DS in there with you at the time of the accident?

Have to say, I'm generally not at all woo, but that is, well, strange.

CheerfulYank · 01/11/2010 18:33

Yes, he was with us and was fine. Calm, didn't cry or anything! I was screaming because I was worried he was going to be hurt, DH was swearing up a storm, and DS just sat there, calm as could be. Odd!

CheerfulYank · 01/11/2010 18:41

Sorry Elmo, I couldn't find the link! Too bad, as I do love giving my opinion! :)

gomummygo · 01/11/2010 19:49

Linky here Cheerful

Wow, how impressive that your DS kept calm. I would be the same as you - screaming, worried that DS would be hurt. So good that you are all safe and sound.

elmofan · 02/11/2010 10:21

Good morning :-)

Thanks tea & gomummy for doing a link for me
im not good at all with this pc.Blush
Hope everyone had a good halloween?

elmofan · 02/11/2010 10:24

Ooh Cheerful Sad you must have had such a fright . As for you brave little boy , maybe his guardian angel was looking out for him

CheerfulYank · 02/11/2010 15:00

I think so Elmo. He just...says things sometimes and it's so interesting. The other day before he told me that before he was born he lived in God's house. I said, "oh, what was God like?" He told me very seriously "Well, he's a shepherd you know." I suppose he could have heard God called a shepherd at some point but I don't know where. (Our church attendance is pretty shameful! :)) Of course the other day when we were thanking God for our supper he said "God didn't give us supper, Mommy. You did!" So I might have a little Richard Dawkins on my hands... :)

Teaandcakeplease · 02/11/2010 15:38

So glad you're ok Cheerful! Your DS sounds prophetic! What a clever little boy. Maybe he's just good pals with Jesus Wink Joel 2:28 and Matt 11:25

My DD knew my marriage was over before I did. She told me as we dropped him off for his holiday that he was lost and gone and cried inconsolably, he never came home. The affair came out and we separated. I think children are very astute. My DD is very sensitive to all sorts. Maybe this all sounds odd but I defo believe it Smile

OP posts:
CheerfulYank · 02/11/2010 17:09

I think that too, tea. I think children aren't as hampered as adults are by what we see as "reality" and so are more comfortable sharing their opinions and feelings. Your poor DD, though! :(

gomummygo · 02/11/2010 17:28

One more here who feels that way. Several of those strange experiences for my family when I was a young toddler that they still talk about today. I think part of it is that young children are incredibly perceptive to things that we largely ignore as adults.

:( for your DD Tea.

Teaandcakeplease · 02/11/2010 17:34

Do you think that's why Jesus says we need to become like little children to inherit the kingdom of God because of the way they see things? Hmm I think that's his wording. Haven't got time to look on biblegateway as cooking dinner right now. Hoping the DCs eat it. DD has had a nasty vomiting bug but has managed to keep food down since breakfast, although she hasn't eaten much.

OP posts:
gomummygo · 02/11/2010 17:47

Always thought that passage was more referring to the innocence of little children, how their hearts and minds are open and true, having not yet been affected by the prejudices and not-so-pure motivations that "corrupt" our perspectives as adults....but really I have no idea at all, that was always just the way I thought of the we must "become like little children" passage in my own interpretation. :)

Sorry to hear that DD had that horrid bug, it is going around here too. Doesn't seem to last long, thankfully...but quite unpleasant while it's there. Hope DD feels better soon.

Teaandcakeplease · 02/11/2010 20:51

I thought that too but I think there's maybe more to it with children just getting things in a way we don't. You know?

DS has just been sick in his cot Sad Just cleared it up as best as I can in the dark with DD asleep in there too and whiped the sheet off and put a fresh one on. Wish they'd both just get better, I thought they were both recovering but obviously not Hmm Sad Really hope I do not catch it

OP posts:
gomummygo · 02/11/2010 21:12

That could be right, Tea. Interesting way to think of it.

Oh poor DS. :( Hope they get a good sleep and feel much better in the morning. You must be exhausted with both of them being ill. Hope you can get some rest too.

elmofan · 02/11/2010 21:14

tea, hope dd & ds are feeling better soon.
