To think that BIL is a total Cunt

got invited to birthday party with DP and 4 DCs was told it was a swim party and when we asked if we needed to bring anything we were told no.

Went to the pool, had a good time. When we got out of the pool we were told the food bit of the party was going to be at Pizza hut ..... we had to pay. We couldn't get out of it at that point as none of the other guests had turned up to the party - they hadn't booked a table in advance so we had to wait half an hour, then pay 60 quid for a meal we didn't really want.

BIL lives a couple of hundred miles away so we had already laid out 50 odd quid in petrol to get there (not to mention b'day pressie etc.)

We have had lots of kids parties at our house and always fed and watered people (and wouldn't dream of asking them to come to a party and pay for the privilege!)

Fuming!!!!

Wow ! Cunt was possibly slightly harsh but I'm guessing there is more to it ....

FWIW - I wouldn't ask people to come to a party that was going to put them out of pocket other than a gift and card if they chose to

prozacfairy · 20/09/2010 17:15

Cunt is a bit harsh but I'm guessing this isn't first time BIL has pissed you off like this?

Damn cheeky to expect people to pay their own way for birthday tea.

Shame for the birthday boy/girl that no other guests showed up Sad Mind you, wonder what your BIL would have done about that? Refused to feed the kids anything but tap water unless they coughed up their pocket money?

GetOrfMoiLand · 20/09/2010 17:17

Calling him a cunt is way out of proportion to his supposed crime.

You could have said, no we are not going to pizza hut, sorry.

To go, pay the money, brim over with resentment then call him a cunt is a bit OTT.

piratecat · 20/09/2010 17:18

am intrigued to know of the other cuntish ways in which he has been a cunt .

NoelEdmondshair · 20/09/2010 17:22

You are vulgar.

Pioneer · 20/09/2010 17:22

Agree that cunt is pretty harsh, but I guess you are probably angry and venting on here.

This happened to us at the weekend.

"Come along to our DD's party, we will take you out for lunch, but afterwards we are going to a castle and you can pay for that"

It cost us £45!

I do think it is very very cheeky TBH, especially if you don't have prior knowledge.

lizandlulu · 20/09/2010 17:22

NONE of the other guests turned up Hmm

GetOrfMoiLand · 20/09/2010 17:23

It is cheeky, and to be honest what else could you do seeing that noody else showed up.

But why did you not say anyhtng to BIL at the time, said 'oi, you said we didn't have to pay' or something.
I don't really like the word cunt. I find it funny when used as in 'Cunting Sainsburys' but to call someone one, well i don't think that's very naice

Haliborange · 20/09/2010 17:24

Disorganised tightwad yes, cunt no. Not based on the OP anyway.

The fact that none of the other guests turned up - is the Pizza Hut surprise an annual tradition perhaps?

Also, £60 in Pizza Hut? Shock

massivemammaries · 20/09/2010 17:25

he has many many cuntish ways pirate.

Including fathering 2 sons by one woman, leaving her while she preggers with 2nd child

  • then fighting for access to his eldest child whilst maintaining that he wants nothing to do with the second - ever.

actually I could go on for ever

massivemammaries · 20/09/2010 17:28

£60 in pizza hut is not hard to do when you have a family of 6 who are hungry having travelled 200 miles and been swimming!!!!

OP posts:
OnlyWantsOne · 20/09/2010 17:32

love the fact that you've used the word cunt in the title :O heheh

he seems like an utter muppet, but - doesnt seem that much of a big deal, is there more to this relationship that annoys you?

GetOrfMoiLand · 20/09/2010 17:32

£60 on pizza hut is not a surprise tbh.

I made the mistake of taking dd and her mates there years ago thibnking it would be cheap (and cheerless). Cost me a bloody fortune, for what it was.

TotorosOcarina · 20/09/2010 17:32

Hahahaha sorry but this is my FAVOURITE thread in ages!!

It was out of order to spring pizza hut on you.

But by your title I thought he had stabbed your puppy!!!

Great over use of the word!

TotorosOcarina · 20/09/2010 17:34
massivemammaries · 20/09/2010 17:36

yah, ha ha, lots of people find the word cunt offensive but I quite like it actually and weather I ABU or not, he is still one

OP posts:
TotorosOcarina · 20/09/2010 17:38

My 4 year old says 'cunt' constantly... am still battling on with 'No dear, its not CUNT, its 'couldn't' Hmm

OnlyWantsOne · 20/09/2010 17:39

fear leads to hate!!

massivemammaries · 20/09/2010 17:45

the thing that really fucked me off the most was that his new girlfriend told the kids we were dining in Pizza Hut before us!

OP posts:
cupcakesandbunting · 20/09/2010 17:49

Why is everyone getting in a flap about the C-bomb?!

He sounds like a cunt.

massivemammaries · 20/09/2010 18:07

If my BIL did that, I would definitely call him a cunt.
