To think that BIL is a total Cunt

got invited to birthday party with DP and 4 DCs was told it was a swim party and when we asked if we needed to bring anything we were told no.

Went to the pool, had a good time. When we got out of the pool we were told the food bit of the party was going to be at Pizza hut ..... we had to pay. We couldn't get out of it at that point as none of the other guests had turned up to the party - they hadn't booked a table in advance so we had to wait half an hour, then pay 60 quid for a meal we didn't really want.

BIL lives a couple of hundred miles away so we had already laid out 50 odd quid in petrol to get there (not to mention b'day pressie etc.)

We have had lots of kids parties at our house and always fed and watered people (and wouldn't dream of asking them to come to a party and pay for the privilege!)

Fuming!!!!

Tbh honest I was more amused that he was a Cunt with a Capital C than anything else

WinkyWinkola · 20/09/2010 18:19

It is cheeky of him. I'd've said, "Oh no thanks. But haven't you prepared party food yourself?" And got out of paying anything because of his chutzpah.

None of the other guests turned up to the party? Are they wise to his tightfisted ways then? Grin

Don't go again. Oh and make him pay for any food he dares to consume at your house.

CheeseandGherkins · 20/09/2010 18:19

Why is it only BIL? Is he a single parent?

Threelittleducks · 20/09/2010 18:19

Oh and where we live - bawbag.

Alouiseg · 20/09/2010 18:25

I'd have called him a tight cunt to his face, then come and told everyone so I could be judged for using a Rude Word Shock

HecateQueenOfWitches · 20/09/2010 18:27

oh that poor child. Nobody else came to the party?

I've been there. Only ONE child turned up to my eldest's party. First one we'd thrown him and we didn't do it again for years.

Bastards. Angry

I'd be less cross about paying for pizza than I would be upset for the child.

GeekOfTheWeek · 20/09/2010 18:28

Yanbu to be pissed off at the cheek.

Yabu to not say anything.

massivemammaries · 20/09/2010 18:30

@hecate the child had plenty of people at the party hosted by his mother on the previous day (to which we were not invited)

OP posts:
2shoes · 20/09/2010 18:32

yabu and OTT you could have said no

HecateQueenOfWitches · 20/09/2010 18:33

ah, I see. I got confused Blush I thought you were saying that none of the guests invited to the party showed up, apart from you.

Why weren't you invited to the other one?

massivemammaries · 20/09/2010 18:35

I don't think we could actually considering the fact our kids had already been promised a party and had been dragged out on a 3 and a half hour journey to get there AND they still needed feeding in any case

OP posts:
massivemammaries · 20/09/2010 18:37

@hecate - thats what i was saying

we were not invited to the other one because we are related to my BIL who is a cunt and thinks he can produce children without taking any responsibility for them

YANBU.

fortyplus · 20/09/2010 18:50

YANBU to think he's a cunt. YABU (totally) to use cunt in a thread title when you know that so many others on here find it offensive.

Why not start a thread called 'I love gollies'

massivemammaries · 20/09/2010 18:52

ok , I have just started a thread called "I Love Gollies" as you suggested (grin)

OP posts:
cluelessnchaos · 20/09/2010 18:53

YANBU, and have given me a much needed giggle

cluelessnchaos · 20/09/2010 18:53

I think I must be vulgar too

fortyplus · 20/09/2010 18:54

Gollies far more offensive than cunts, obviously - I hope you've namechanged! Grin

massivemammaries · 20/09/2010 18:58

someone suggested it was ok to say "cunting Sainsburys'" ..... is "cunting gollies" more or less offensive than that?

OP posts:
Northernlurker · 20/09/2010 18:59

Feeding a family of 6 is expensive and you needed to do that - I don't see why you hve to be so irate about this incident. I also don't see quite how you had to spend £60 - last time the 5 of us went the bill was £30 I think.
