got invited to birthday party with DP and 4 DCs was told it was a swim party and when we asked if we needed to bring anything we were told no.

Went to the pool, had a good time. When we got out of the pool we were told the food bit of the party was going to be at Pizza hut ..... we had to pay. We couldn't get out of it at that point as none of the other guests had turned up to the party - they hadn't booked a table in advance so we had to wait half an hour, then pay 60 quid for a meal we didn't really want.

BIL lives a couple of hundred miles away so we had already laid out 50 odd quid in petrol to get there (not to mention b'day pressie etc.)

We have had lots of kids parties at our house and always fed and watered people (and wouldn't dream of asking them to come to a party and pay for the privilege!)

Fuming!!!!

I'm liking the overdramatic use of the word Cunt for your BIL.

I hate it when people expect you to suddenly stump up money on their days out. Pizza Hut can be costly (and ours bloody opted out of the kids eat free deal - the Cunts).
