i know the children abuse issues are pretty horendous but why do people have to stand there booing- its so rude! in other cultures such disrespect simply wouldn't be allowed.

If Mugabe ever visits we best all be quiet in case our "guest" is offended.

ItsGrimUpNorth · 17/09/2010 22:52

thesecondcoming, it's very offensive to me that nobody is saying anything about it. People just line the streets to worship this man who does nothing about the paedophilia that is rife within the Catholic church.

It's not a small problem. Thousands of children have been abused. Thousands. That's not small. That's extremely offensive.

That's what people are angry about - the lack of action in the church leaders and its followers. It does look like nobody gives a sh*t. Truly.

The show must go on.

2shoes · 17/09/2010 22:54

newwave can you imagine it

ItsGrimUpNorth · 17/09/2010 22:55

And when we send paedophiles to prison, we don't tend to consider the good they do. The crimes they commit are kind of dominant.

I also don't regard condemning the use of condoms as very good for humanity either. It condemns many to awful diseases.

I'm outraged at the pope for daring to even suggest any moral code by which people should live. My word.

newwave · 17/09/2010 22:57

2shoes, yes I can and like the pope he would no doubt have his apologists and supporters

musicmadness · 17/09/2010 22:57

I have absolutely no problem with people booing him if they want to. I have been deliberately avoiding watching the TV coverage of him but I read the BBC website so I've seen some of the comments he's made. The response to him in my head is generally "F*ck off you bigoted old twat" and a few of his comments are actually quite offensive. I'm not protesting him because I prefer the ignoring him completely approach (at least for my actual actions, its proving difficult in thought) but I have no problem at all with those that are. Its not like they are being violent! The same freedom of expression that allows him to spout his bollocks opinions allows those who don't agree with him to express that. Both or neither IMO.

sarinha2203 · 17/09/2010 22:58

Ahh please not another thread about the Pope!!!

musicmadness · 17/09/2010 22:59

^^Forgot to add, the above is completely disregarding all the other objections I have about the Catholic churches actions and some of its teachings. That rant would fill several pages up!

Quattrocento · 17/09/2010 23:01

I think the Pope could do with a good booing frankly. And perhaps some pertinent questions around why he's seen fit to condone child abuse as an illness and why he's spreading Aids around Africa. In fact I am minded to boo from my study. Pity he's not here, really.

AgentZigzag · 17/09/2010 23:01

What compelled you to post sarinha?

newwave · 17/09/2010 23:05

It has a lot to do with the unatural life the catholic clergy lead, if they had a regular leg over some of them may not find children such an attraction.

Seems the CofE have something right.

2shoes · 17/09/2010 23:08

sarinha2203 people will post abot the pope as he is here in our country.

UnquietDad · 17/09/2010 23:09

They must surely have to knock one out every so often. One assumes they don't think about Cheryl Cole.

2shoes · 17/09/2010 23:09

newwave so right, I think the C OF E have it right as they allow their priest to marry.(bit biased as had a lot of help from my dads c of e priest when he died.....thanks father steve)

sarinha2203 · 17/09/2010 23:10

"what compelled you to post?"
Well everyone is talking, well whining, about the pope's visit.

2shoes · 17/09/2010 23:10

UnquietDad they must need "it" I have never understood all this married to god stuff, surely they need ............it

UnquietDad · 17/09/2010 23:12

It's supposed to be healthy... even that curmudgeonly old sod St Paul said so! "Get yerselves a wife and bonk out yer unnatural urges in 'er" was the upshot of his comment on the matter.

I wouldn't have felt the need to boo, but now he's compared me to a Nazi I feel my mood changing.

AgentZigzag · 17/09/2010 23:17

Not whining, but debating/discussing/ haranguing other posters .

I haven't been on any other threads about the Pope and I'd like to get my twopenneth in somewhere, just like you have.

curryfreak · 17/09/2010 23:18

Unquietdad, do you have some soft of sexual perversain pertaining to girls aload? This is not the first time they have been mentioned in posts of yours over the last few days, in a rather innapropriate manner!
TSC, there's a massive amount of anti-catholicism around at the moment,- a lot of vitriol and venom, that is really quite nasty. I'll tell you what though, it hasn't worked at all, and i was really surprised to see how warm a welcome the pope got got from many british people.
Quite uplifting really:-)

sarinha2203 · 17/09/2010 23:20

haha Agent - fair enough - still a lot of whining going on though! :o

2shoes · 17/09/2010 23:22

surely if unquietdad has a bit of a fancy for girls aloud, that is normal for a bloke

AgentZigzag · 17/09/2010 23:25

So what do you think about the OPs question sarinha?

curryfreak · 17/09/2010 23:25

Oh is it 2shoes right then.
