Dh got home before me, rang to see what to do for tea. I said pizza, potato and salad. Got home, he's cooked pizza and omelette so I asked where are the potatoes and salad? He replied he hadn't done them as he thought pizza and omelette would be enough. He got the pizza out of the oven, I said they're not quite cooked through. He flipped at this point, shouting that whenever he cooks I criticize him! Is it just me that thinks this is completely ott?!

yes, nob, nobber...as in cum and not come

knob is for doorknobs

squarehat · 10/09/2010 23:49

What was the point of him ringing and asking what to make for tea then making something different?

YANBU - fair enough if he had made this for tea without ringing to ask, although it is a bit of a strange meal Confused

Well, who usually cooks? If the cooking is shared, how do you usually react to what he cooks? Do you have a habit of criticizing whatever he does, or does he have a habit of only doing housework when you've asked him to, making a huge big deal out of how good he is for 'helping' and then fucking it all up and having a strop if you point this out?

I can;t say I'd automatically consider omelette as an accompaniment for pizza myself, but then my tea tonight was rollmops and leftover black forest ham (great combination for someone who is beginning to think she's getting an ulcer, but I digress...)

hobbgoblin · 10/09/2010 23:51

what is past tense of cum by the way?

I still say cum in either tense

Pan · 10/09/2010 23:52

cummed.

hobbgoblin · 10/09/2010 23:53

oh yes, I suppose so! Sounds incorrect, but I think I have read cummed in some porn text at some point, possibly so will correct for future use!

Pan · 10/09/2010 23:55

hob - I really have nooo idea. Just sounded funny. "He cummed". Yep.

hobbgoblin · 10/09/2010 23:58

Maybe I should just say 'made omelette'?

Not that I need to say this that often of course. But it does occasionally crop up.

Which reminds me, why does predictive text never remember knickers? Am going to start a thread about that actually...

I think I promised you an email pan, about a year ago Blush

Pan · 11/09/2010 00:02

you did.

knickers comes up a loglers or some such. My phone keeps it. I think.Blush

skirt · 11/09/2010 00:02

poor bloke, omelette's harder than potatoes and salad any day plus it needs more ingredients and pans. Did he wash up? And you had a pop? Shame on you.

Claw3 · 11/09/2010 00:04

ha ha! Pizza and omelette, i think my reaction would have been why you knober, not the pizza isnt cooked.

hobbgoblin · 11/09/2010 00:06

Oh, sorry pan. Can I use having a baby as my excuse? Am sorry though. I loved reading the stuff you sent. :)

SkylineDrifter · 11/09/2010 00:06

Pizza and potato is just weird and I think he, being an intelligent man, realised this. So he made the pizza and omelette to draw attention to the fact that the pizza and potato is weird. Poor guy.

Pan · 11/09/2010 00:07

no worries really!. Babies are the cast iron excuse!Smile

thisisyesterday · 11/09/2010 07:40

so, you've been at work all day. your husband rings to ask what you would like to eat. you say pizza, potatoes, salad.
you look forward to it

you arrive home and he has made pizza and omelette. aside from this not being what he said he'd make, and aside from it being totally and utterly WEIRD, he then proceeds to start serving up uncooked pizza

and NONE of you would mind that? you'd all smile sweetly and say "oh thank you so much darling?"

yeah right.

he isn't a child. he doesn't need positive reinforcement. he isn't good and clever for offering to cook something then making another thing entirely and not cooking half of it properly.

oh, and by the way, it always used to be knob. nob i think is relatively recent and comes from a different source

the past tense of cum is came. ie "he came all over my face after i had my pizza and omelette"

thisisyesterday · 11/09/2010 07:43

p.s mowgli, we have potatoes with pizza too! sometimes

piscesmoon · 11/09/2010 07:52

If he is cooking I should just be thankful and eat it!
(I can't see why you would even think of having potatoes with pizza).

diddl · 11/09/2010 07:53

I´ve done jacket potato & pizza beforeBlush

OP-do you always criticise when he cooks?

proudnglad · 11/09/2010 08:18

No I'm sorry pizza and potatoes is surely an illegal combination? Gross.

Anyway my advice would be - LEAVE HIM. Definitely an abusive twunt with no respect for you OR potatoes.

redderthanred · 11/09/2010 08:24

PIZZA AND OMELETTE???????

Confused
redderthanred · 11/09/2010 08:27

tbh - id been a bit ' what on earth have you cooked, im not eating that!'

but then, - im getting divorced... so what do i know.

ex dh once cooked sometihng with pasta. he cooked the pasta for so long it was basically pasta soup. I refused to eat it - he could have read the instructions, its not hard, women can cook and read instructions, why is it ok for him not to - and we are meant to be all pleaased that they have tried.

Supercherry · 11/09/2010 08:31

Pizza and potato might be a bit of a carb overload but isn't pizza and chips quite a common combination? Same thing really.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 11/09/2010 08:46

YANBU.

If he's not going to do dinner properly in a way that makes it edible then why bother?

Early in our relationship DH did something similar and I flipped. He got all hurt and 'oh well I tried, blah blah'. I told him I didn't think I was getting married to an idiot and had assumed he was as capable as me. He apologised for being half-arsed about it and it hasn't happened again.
Yes sometimes meals go wrong, but that's different to semi-deliberately making something foul.

Pioneer · 11/09/2010 10:02

at omelette and "cum" being discussed in same thread........
