I am talking about people who shower everyday and bath there toddlers every day.Unless you work in a dirty job you dont have to shower everyday
Also on this site I have read about women who change clothes daily and bedding after a few days.
I shower every 4 days and wear clothes for a week, apart from undies which I sniff everynight to see if they will do another day(I also sniff DW knickers but that is another story)
Just think of all the water these people waste and co2 imissions used to warm the water
There is no need
ooooh I am getting worked up now just thinking about these selfish people
and I havent even started on the all the bleach and detergent flushed down the drains

I could go on but it is sundaynight and I want to chill with a bottle of wine

maristella · 05/09/2010 20:27

Trip trap.

FlyMeToDunoon · 05/09/2010 20:28

I don't know about anyone elses children but mine get filthy and need to have baths. They don't actually have one evey night as I am a lazy arse but at least every three days.

Tokyotwist · 05/09/2010 20:28

Grin I read your title and was going to comment on how I keep telling my sister she will create a new superbug with her cleanliness. But for shame, your post is much wittier.

Tmi. Tmi. Tmi. Tmi. Tmi.

I almost agree that you don't need to shower or bath every single day. If you are not a sweaty person and you wash your undercarriage properly on the days you don't shower. A shower every other day is acceptable in those circumstances.

The rest of it though - yuck!

But I agree with you about bleach. I never use it - the smell makes me nauseous - but our house is reasonably sort of clean.

shinyshoes · 05/09/2010 20:29

I feel ill

I managed to keep the dry heaves at bay until you mentioned knicker sniffing Hmm

usualsuspect · 05/09/2010 20:29

Competitive sheet changing is funny though

Lulumaam · 05/09/2010 20:30

awww, you're funny !

it's morally loose and selfish to smell of BO and unwashed clothes

lots of people use eco friendly stuff to wash their clothes and bodies with.

undies will NEVER do for more than one day

bleeeeeeee

MichaelaFinnigan · 05/09/2010 20:30

I change my clothes because they get minging with a gardening job and a toddler and lots of physical work. Today I trimmed 3 trees and a beech hedge and was vomited on by DS, that is a fairly usual day. Am I allowed to get changed and have a shower?

And I change the sheets every week, but that's another thread.

MumInBeds · 05/09/2010 20:30

I think there's a middle ground here.

shinyshoes · 05/09/2010 20:30

and what does 'spreading up the end of the world' mean Confused

Animation · 05/09/2010 20:31

Confused Hmm

PYT · 05/09/2010 20:32

Yeah, if we were all dirty, stinking soap-dodgers the world would be a much better place.

Hassled · 05/09/2010 20:33

Too, too gross. Grosser than a big pile of gross things.

usualsuspect · 05/09/2010 20:33

Well I shower 5 times a day, and change my sheets every hour on the hour

Lynli · 05/09/2010 20:33

No doubt you will be drinking alone?

ZZZenAgain · 05/09/2010 20:34

speeding up

DuelingFanjo · 05/09/2010 20:35

Was about to say the same Zen. Speeding not Speading.

ChippingIn · 05/09/2010 20:36

Oh God - I'm positively sending it into some kind of frenzy then - I usually shower twice a day, change bed linen twice a week and kids are bathed everynight. I use bleach and detergents.

Do you think we have a new playmate for J A S O N T H U N D E R P A N T S ? or an expensive highchair?

IWouldNotCouldNotWithAGoat · 05/09/2010 20:36

It is completely unnecessary to shower every 4 days.

Every 4 weeks is more than sufficient.

And stop sniffing your wife's knickers. As long as you can't smell them from the other side of the room, they are fine for another wearing.
