I am talking about people who shower everyday and bath there toddlers every day.Unless you work in a dirty job you dont have to shower everyday
Also on this site I have read about women who change clothes daily and bedding after a few days.
I shower every 4 days and wear clothes for a week, apart from undies which I sniff everynight to see if they will do another day(I also sniff DW knickers but that is another story)
Just think of all the water these people waste and co2 imissions used to warm the water
There is no need
ooooh I am getting worked up now just thinking about these selfish people
and I havent even started on the all the bleach and detergent flushed down the drains

I could go on but it is sundaynight and I want to chill with a bottle of wine
x

it's also 'Sheer' not 'shear'.

not a spelling mistake made in this thread but in one of the other threads last week which bugged me. Similar, no?

Lulumaam · 05/09/2010 20:37

we've been trolled, yes?

ChippingIn · 05/09/2010 20:37

I don't think he's sniffing them to see if she can wear them again Grin

BelleDameSansMerci · 05/09/2010 20:39

I may be clean but at least I can spell Grin

FickleFairy · 05/09/2010 20:40

Troll Alert x

laughingravey · 05/09/2010 20:41

sorry I meant speeding
of course if you do a dirty job or manual work that makes you dirty and sweaty you should shower
but why change clothes daily unless they are dirty?
and why shower daily just because you can?

Think of the waste water and co2 emissions

I agree, it's a sure sign of a loose moral attitude if you allow any old water to touch your arse Wink

In terms of knickers, I'm sure you know you can turn them inside out and back to front to extend their time between washes.

(Please encourage him not to wash, he may well catch something and he clearly doesn't want to go back to school tomorrow).

oneofthosedays · 05/09/2010 20:44

OP obviously talking bollocks but does have a point!

I bathe DCs 3 times a week, DD gets her hair washed each time and nit combed once a week. DS only gets hair washed once a week.

I shower everyday in summer, usually every other day in winter with a wipe down of essential areas on the other days. Hair washed every other day.

Clothes - DS, fresh set of clothes each day, DD unform - 2 sets per week and gets changed when she gets home and wears those clothes all week, then one outfit for the weekend. I wear trousers for 2 days before washing and tops 1-2 days depending on how clean they are.

Bedding changed every 2-4 weeks.

I think we could be a bit cleaner on the bedding front but I loathe changing our king size bed, kids get done more frequently.

usualsuspect · 05/09/2010 20:44

I wear my jeans for days

haha

Yes. Well, I'd rather be clean.

Sadly I have come across people who really feel as you have written. It is not a pleasant experience.

If you don't want to wash, that's fine. Just do the rest of us a favour and don't stand next to us, get in a lift with us, walk past us or otherwise force us to be so close we can smell you.

I seriously don't understand (except in case of mental health problem or learning disability in which case there is a problem with support!) why people are not clean. How can someone not know how horrible it is to smell bad? or not care enough to keep themselves clean?

laughingravey · 05/09/2010 20:45

Why do you think this is a troll?

Global warming and wasting water are serious subjects and just think of the amount of money you waste

OP posts:
scottishmummy · 05/09/2010 20:46

dont care if its a troll.reasonable effort.no one harmed

whomovedmychocolate · 05/09/2010 20:46

Kids get washed every other day and I shower five times a week because I go to the gym that often and I honk afterwards.

He is talking bollocks. But maybe if you don't wash them for long enough, your bollocks do start talking and posting on Mumsnet? Grin

JaneS · 05/09/2010 20:49

Nicely done, OP! Grin

But if you were serious, you wouldn't waste world resources to chill a bottle of wine. Shock.

laughingravey · 05/09/2010 20:49

I am not dirty or smelly

I stay at home looking after the kids and do not get dirty or sweaty so I dont need a shower every day

Wow, what a lucky woman your wife is .......

Bleurgh! Puke!

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 05/09/2010 20:51

TMI and troll like he might be, but I actually think he has a point! I shower when needed and change my undies everyday but I do agree that we are generally too clean. We are eradicating ALL the bugs in our lives, even the healthy ones, and even the bad ones are useful, they help us develop immunities. We have to eat activia type friendly bacteria, because our food is sterile. Dirt isn't bad! Smelling however is!

emissions or immissions?

Thought you didn't want to go on!?

scottishmummy · 05/09/2010 20:53

dont get this penchant for shouting/outing troll

reasonably witty post
no one duped/conned
more action and scams with the prams huns tbh

what you win for shouting troll first?troll patrol badge and wee warm glow

ok if someone is malicious and harmful shout troll.but a pant sniffing gravy lovin man is no biggie

usualsuspect · 05/09/2010 20:54

Dettol and there bug killing sprays are unnecessary and just a great big con ...and I never bathed my kids every night either

whomovedmychocolate · 05/09/2010 20:55

Saggyoldclothcatpuss - please direct me to any true scientific evidence that probiotics in your diet have any effect whatsoever, because it just seems like snake oil to me.

I agree though we are taking away too much dirt and bacteria from our houses. Luckily I live in a house which is impossible to keep dust free (thatched) and I have an aversion to using lots of chemicals (they stink) so my house is a Cotswoldy petri-dish of fun and frolics Grin

pigsinmud · 05/09/2010 20:56

I sort of know where you are coming from. My friend wears jeans for one day and then washes them, I won't tell you how long mine go between washes!

We are careful with water, but dh and I shower every day. I like to feel clean in the morning. Ds1 needs to shower every day as he's 12. The other 3 children bathe every 2 or 3 days.

You surely need clean undies every day. I would not sniff dh's undies if you paid me.

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 05/09/2010 20:57

And, I actually think that happy kid is generally, grubby, half dressed and minus at least one shoe! (in summer) then bathed and clean for bed.
