It is not a true statement.

1. You cant go running to your dr's to get a statement. You cannot get a statement from your dr.

1. many children, although some children might be given an incorrect diagnosis, it would be the minority, not the majority (most).

1. It has not been proven that bad parenting is responsible for ADHD. This is speculation, not fact.

So Thecoalition, without scanning the whole thread, i seem to remember that Wassup pasted the above comment and you agreed it was a true statement. She then said you were a disablist based on your agreeing with the above statement.

You have now amended the above statement to suit your point.

It seems to be a dispute over issues which are hard to prove.

The extent to which children who are just naughty are given a disability diagnosis is certainly a proper topic to debate on mumsnet but many aren't. however no one who likes free speech shoudl object to the piont being made or even poitns being made that aren't true. I am sure dinosaurs existed and the Holocaust happened but I am very pleased to live in a country where holocaust denial and preaching that the world is only 6000 years old is lawful.
