No she hasent got ODD sorry for not clarifying, she can be obstanent and defiant but I feel its part and parcel of normal toddler behaviour. I do feel though that it is at the best of times more than others though because of her communication difficulties. We are having a good week and are noticing positive developments. Still referral to Ed psych as the pre school would like to know how to support her in her communicaiton. Now that SALT has made her a communication board with pictures of different aspects of her daily routine, it has imporoved things a lot.

That is why we are putting referral to paed on hold as we are noticing so many positive changes. And feel that she just needs time to develop in her own time, the SALT has now agreed as she can see for herself. When first referred to SALT dd social communication was similar to ASD that is why SALT suggested a refferral to paed, but as the weeks have gone by dd 3.5 has really come out of her shell, enjoys social interaction and makes her own efforts to communicate to people and is getting to be more chatty. Ok she stil has a bit to go but i think that with the help from SALT and ED psych intervention she will continue to improve.

Assertions that teenagers commit suicide because of petty tiffs and to be cool was the big one really, which is obviously very upsetting if you've been affected by such a thing.

Of course I say nice things Fanjo, but not when I see bullying like I saw in some parts of this thread.

Pugwatch, yourself and others were instrumental in getting Breton banned (though he did himself no favours after getting the MNHQ warning). Too right shes felt good about it, though maybe not now she realises she may have contributed to MaryZ leaving.

Piglet, its lovely to hear that your dd is getting some support and making progress, i really hope it continues.

Ds was referred to SALT when he was 2 years old, at the time i was unaware of what i should expect as i didnt have mn and SALT basically fobbed me off! Other parents experiences on here have taught me so much.
