you are just proving silverfrog's point, she is talking about not being aware that danger even EXISTS, you are talking about ignoring dangers.
I repeat that children aren't aware that danger exists so they have to be taught. Even then, while older children may know about it, most of the time they aren't aware of its existence with regard to what they are doing.
Hence they repeatedly fall out of trees. Why do they keep doing it? Don't they "know" it's dangerous?
Why do they regularly crash their bikes because they are cycling too fast or attempting (for the nth time) some acrobatic feat that is nigh on impossible. Why keep attempting it? Don't they realise that is dangerous too?
Why do they persist in doing the 360 degree "loop" over the bar of the swing? It only results in pain when they fail and fall off and, on two occasions, a trip to A&E.
Why regularly jump off fair-ground rides because they've "had enough now" ? It always leads to grazes and bruises and Mummy and Daddy getting very cross.
This is what kids do!
