love how the reaction to this is to inflict the same nastiness on the perpertrator

luckily the justice system is not based solely on retribution

she's evil for putting the kitten in teh bin., so let's be evil by putting her back in teh bin? that'll teach her..

southeastastra · 23/08/2010 17:37

snigger

CerealOffender · 23/08/2010 17:37

what a nutter!

Mrsdoasyouwouldbedoneby · 23/08/2010 17:42

That is not normal behaviour. But then neither wold be putting her ina bin as punishment. For a start she probably wouldn't fit and could easily get out. The best punishment would be to put her in a small room with the cat, while her hands are restrained and she has cat nip hidden under her jumper.

violethill · 23/08/2010 17:44

I hope she gets identified, prosecuted, convicted and sentenced appropriately.

I also think that with the publicity this has had, it's highly likely to happen. I think locally she'll also be vilified, which will probably be the consequence with the greatest impact for her.

However, to read posts where people wish they could do the same to her... well, it kind of shows a shared, and rather disturbed mindset really....

Lulumaam · 23/08/2010 17:48

agreed violet, you have expressed what i wanted to say !

Marjee · 23/08/2010 17:51

I can't get the link to work! What happened? Someone put a kitten in a wheelie bin?!

notalone · 23/08/2010 17:58

I was sent this on FB. The cat was put in the bin by the "lady" (passerby) at 7pm and the owner found the cat at 11am. She was caught on CCTV. I hope she is located and villified. There was no need for her to do that

wtf? That is so random.

Heracles · 23/08/2010 18:40

They should give her the cat o nine tails.

ragged · 23/08/2010 18:41

Dh thinks it's all a set up to get money from the media.
Truly mean... but, ffs, it's only a cat. It wasn't harmed. I think might be a bit early to call for a lynch mob.

SmellsLikeTeenSweat · 23/08/2010 18:48

It is a very odd thing to do. The film of her is good, I mean that if someone knows her she'll be easdy to recognise. And lock up - she's unhinged.

motherbeyond · 23/08/2010 19:07

ok,i don't like cats..but christ, who th hell would do that?
and ragged only a cat?! well, that's alright then Hmmwhat an odd thing to say

i would also reason that someone who would do somthing like that, could be capable of all manner of worrying things

Vallhala · 23/08/2010 19:11

"Only" a cat? Hmm She's a sentient being for fuck's sake!

ISPW you are not unreasonable to want to shut the bitch in a wheelie bin. If anyone finds her, I'd be more than happy to carry this out... and more.

The kitten, btw, was stuck in the bin for SIXTEEN hours.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 23/08/2010 19:13

I would love to know what was going through her mind when she did it.
I mean, she looks fairly normal, she stopped to give a cat a fuss looking like your basic run of the mill animal lover, but BAM she lobs the poor thing in a bin. It's so utterly bizarre!

Just saw this on the news and can't find anything remotely funny about it SEA. WTF would anyone do that?? There are some sick people out there. Angry

loopyloops · 23/08/2010 19:21

Ragged, I was sent this this morning as my brother is friends with the owner. IT definitely isn't a set-up. And "only a cat"?? Sorry for being rude, but if you think that it's OK to befriend a harmless creature, throw it into a dark and unescapable place and leave it, then you are "only a twat".

VinegarTits · 23/08/2010 19:22

yanbu to want to shove her in a bin op, she needs a good kick up her fat arse, she even had a scout around to see if anyone was looking before she threw it in, just plain callous

Squitten · 23/08/2010 19:23
Shock

That is one of the strangest things I have ever seen. She must be mentally unstable. Makes you wonder what other horrible things she might be up to...

Heracles · 23/08/2010 19:35

"That is one of the strangest things I have ever seen. She must be mentally unstable. Makes you wonder what other horrible things she might be up to..."

Locking a fox in a box?

Trapping a shrew in a shoe?

Tricking a horse into divorce?

Setting up a zebra with an ugly girl called Debora?

You couldn't make it up...

Lauriefairycake · 23/08/2010 19:56

Just saw this on the Ch4 news and I thought how awful Sad

she would easily have been able to stroke my friendly, completely deaf 17 year old cat - and she would have died being locked in a bin over night as she's getting a bit frail.

Cruelty to animals is really awful in my opinion - to wilfully hurt something that can't fight back is monstrous.

careergirl · 23/08/2010 21:33

I wondered if the woman had some sort of grudge against the family who the cat belonged to? Its very odd behaviour definitely. Luckily the CCTV was very clear and if she is local someone will know who she is.
