to think that there is an extraordinarily high instance of people whinging about nothing at the moment?

Every thread I open seems to be whinging about something so totally insignficant that it boggles the mind. I can't give examples as I don't want to quote individuals. I'm not one of the 'be grateful that's all you've got to worry about, brigade' but really, I don't know how some people go about their everyday lives when inconsequential things piss them off so much. I understand people coming on here for a whinge but I've seen threads from people who are really angry about things, really having a go at family members etc when the 'crime' is so tiny as to be non existent.

AIBU to think that people really need to get a grip and stop whining? Or have I just got too old and grumpy for MN? (could well be the case)

(Am prepared for a flaming, would be a darn sight more interesting!)

I know what you mean ..[mardy old lady]

somethinganything · 27/07/2010 15:23

agreed

JAKEJEM · 27/07/2010 15:23

I agree Rock, I am a mum to 3 children, two with autism and other complex needs and a baby. My husband is on a 7 month detachment in Afghan and I have no family nearby to help. I love my life, god damn it's bloody hard, and I am on my knees at the end of each day, but I am happy and fullfilled. LIFE IS TOO SHORT AND PRECIOUS TO COMPLAIN XX

And YANBU.

DramaInPyjamas · 27/07/2010 15:26

YANBU.
I've just had a 2/3 week break away from Mumsnet because it was really starting to bring me down, came back today, and it's still the same!

Rockbird · 27/07/2010 15:27

Actually Kath you weren't one of them I fully understand PIL issues and the misery they cause for all concerned so you're safe!

No flaming yet?

Perhaps there is a collecting competition of which we are unaware...

usualsuspect · 27/07/2010 15:29

If you don't like it Rockbird ,then just fuck off..that sort of thing

hocuspontas · 27/07/2010 15:29

It's obvious - the summer holidays are here and no one can gripe about reading schemes/lunch boxes/miserable teachers/unfair stickers/lost property etc

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 27/07/2010 15:30

Am working on dental reception today and have had nothing but people ranting about small things at me, which aren't my fault, ranting even before I know what's going on and can help them..must be the weather!!

AgentZigzag · 27/07/2010 15:32

Oh fuck off Rockbird, who do you think you are?? The bloody MN police, people can post about what they want to, if you don't like it turn off your computer.

(does that go any way to helping your masochistic flaming fetish? )

Rockbird · 27/07/2010 15:33

Yay, have been told to fuck off!!

You could have put a bit more effort in though, a fuck the fuck off or a fuck off again when you get there would have been good . At the very least a 'don't let the door bang you on the arse'

OP posts:
Rockbird · 27/07/2010 15:34

That's more like it. I can feel offended properly now

Cast your eyes up and to the right...you will see a sure sign that all is fucked-up in MN land.

YANBU anyway, it is moantastic here just now. Very boring.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 27/07/2010 15:34

Two words. Full moon.

Rockbird · 27/07/2010 15:35

Oh hell, it is as well...

I agree YANBU. I dislike the threads that end up with everyone making the same point over and over, for just nonsense.

But maybe I am that people have such easy lives that this is possibly the main stress they have...I couldn't even be bothered to join in with one of them, I just went "meh!" and pressed the back button. I think a lot of these posts could be on the What would you do? thread.

Now if you'll excuse me I have to fix the brakes on my tricycle...

BollockBrain · 27/07/2010 15:40

Fairy - I do hope that JL tricyle has proper brakes.....

swanandduck · 27/07/2010 15:41

'At the moment' Rockbird? I think there are always some ridiculous threads, with people stressing over rubbish, on mumsnet. I honestly wonder what some of these people do when they really hit a crisis.

said · 27/07/2010 15:42

Have you got nothing better to moan about than other people having nothing better to moan about?

Rockbird · 27/07/2010 15:43

Nope, nothing better at all

I was about to start a thread asking if AIBU to beg for chocolate cos I really need some and can't go out due to sleeping DDs. I won't now.
