is anyone else unbearably irritated by this program? I run for the remote as soon as it starts, even my DC aren't keen on it thankfully for my ears.
Is it a complete BBC flop? Bring on more Charlie and Lola and less of the Zingcrap.

Truly awful

OneTwoBuckleMyShoe · 27/07/2010 20:14

Ohhh don't get me started on the songs, although am loving the summer one (first time round for us as DD is only 10 months old - oh lummy am already a seasoned Cbeebies watcher, such a bad mummy!).

Andy really shakes his thang in that, hmmmm Andy..... oh and DH fancies the blonde dancer too!

Carmel206 · 27/07/2010 20:17

yaNbu - even my 3 year old asks me to turn them off

SarfEasticated · 27/07/2010 20:29

As a working mother with institutionalised nursery going 3-year old child I am spared too much cbeebies now, tbh it was one of my main motivations for going back to work full-time, but still watch (and quite like):

C&L - quality - love it, and not that middle class imo - they live in a flat fgs
Zinzillas - don't mind it TBH - like the different kinds of musica but too many repeats
Tweenies - great - good music, stories and characters
Everything's Rosie - i like the theme tune but DD is bored by prog
Same smile - I love watching all the little kids with regional accents - dd get's ideas of what she want's for her birthday or what to do with her spare time ( a hamster, bike and riding lessons - hmm thanks!)
Tinga tales - I LOVE it - visually and culturally fabbo! bees are my fave
Jackanory Junior - fab stories - Rastmouse read by Lenny Henry is a fave here and on iPlayer
Timmy Time is genius as is Shaun the Sheep on CBBC
Mother mirabelle's home movies - is good too
Grandpa in my pocket is loved by dd - i find it a bit sexist tbh, all the girls/woman are dopes or nags.
I love the weekend song, and the summer one too, but find the 'how to make a raincatcher' supremly dull

I don't like
Green Balloon club because of annoying child presenters (sorry children)
Teletubbies - terrible
Squiglet - why can't she just call them crayons?
Balamory - creepy
Waybaloo/ITNG - thankfully not liked any more
Will come back if I think of anything else...

wasabipeanut · 27/07/2010 20:35

I hate Zingzillas, luckily so does DS. Space Pirates was much better but he wasn't into Cbeebies then, I mainly watched it for my own amusement. Worryingly.

Waybuloo has to be the worst though.

FunnyLittleFrog · 27/07/2010 20:45

That Let's Celebrate (?) thing is odd. Like the actual films about different traditions and celebrations but don't get the point of the little Irish guy in the junk shop or whatever it is.

DD is into Big Barn Farm at the moment. I find it a bit freaky - reminds me of the footage of animals infected with CJD back on 1980s news reports.

Plopsie · 27/07/2010 20:50

Absolutely not unreasonable. It's utter pap and just the thought of it has me hyperventilating.

taffetacatski · 27/07/2010 20:53

My DC don't watch a lot, and not at a regular time so not aware of repeats ( esp as I don't watch with them ). DS (6) and DD ( nearly 4 ) both adore Zingzillas. They esp like the coconut hut thing? They learnt about both opera and jazz through the programme and we had a discussion about both and a look online.

The only other programmes they both like are Doctor Who, Shaun the Sheep and Ooglies.

Agree 3rd and Bird is dreadful. Baby Jordan, Baby Jordan, clap clap clap , tap tap tap, just like sodding Baby Jordan. The telly develops a mysterious fault if its ever happened upon...

Natty85 · 27/07/2010 21:02

Space Pirates was just about tolerable. Zingzillas I can't stand. Cast it into the fire along with Chuggington, I say!

Big and Small is the best, it should be on more!

That new show, 'Same Smile' is a bit weird, I think that woman really thinks the teddies are real and the way she sings at those children is pretty harrowing! xx

Shaz10 · 27/07/2010 21:03

The Chuggington theme tune sounds just like the Milky Bar song to me.

mummyloveslucy · 27/07/2010 21:07

I love Zingzillas, so does my 5 year old daughter. Is there something wrong with me ?

Housemum · 27/07/2010 21:08

Aaargh - Let's Celebrate - his accent moves - Irish with a hint of West Country. Love the idea of the different celebrations, but he's trying too hard.

whomovedmychocolate · 27/07/2010 21:23

I like Chuggington though

It shuts the kids up for fifteen minutes while I have a shower in the morning

MimsyStarr · 27/07/2010 21:28

YANBU. It makes Waybuloo look good (almost).

MumOfAPickle · 27/07/2010 21:41

So please to hear Show Me Show Me is back, have missed Chris & Pui. We're going to see them live in October - a treat for my DS as its about a month after new baby comes

I actually don't mind Zingzillas but then DS has gone off it so i'm not subjected all the time.

All we seem to watch here is Peppa and its driving me crazy. Mind you at least the male/female role models are pretty good - my DH gets cross at how bloody useless Daddy Pig is, he literally can't do anything and is basically a fat, lazy lump who needs Mummy Pig to save the day all the time! I find it most amusing and love the fact that Mrs Rabbit basically runs the whole town.

See - too much sodding Peppa

catsdontscreetch · 27/07/2010 21:46

I loathe Zingzillers. I can't believe just how much I hate it! grrr face
More Charlie & Lola, even though my DD is getting more like Lola every day.
Wasn't the guy in Let's Celebrate called Patrick in the program where some fuzzy thing went down different coloured slides?
Arrgh that's going to bug me now...

MogTheForgetfulCat · 27/07/2010 21:51

I dislike Zingzillas intensely, mainly because of Panzee's excessively girly gesturing. Drives me crackers. And the theme tune is so irritatingly catchy - gah!

We always catch some of it because have to turn on for Chuggington (which I quite like - partly because Morgan the mechanic is a bit of a dish )

catsdontscreetch · 27/07/2010 21:54

Phew I thought it was just me that thought that , he is cute

LittleBugsMum · 27/07/2010 21:57

Haha. I love that so many people think the same way I do!!!

Hate Zingzillas & try to turn it over when Andy is introducing it but DH said the other morning "Zingzillas is good isn't it, it teaches rhythm, tone and harmony" Then I felt guilty...

I also think DJ loose is sexist with his beach 'birds'

I think Tinga Tales is beautiful and I know it's unpopular on here but we (ds & I) love 3rd and Bird!

I used to love Jakers - where's that gone, it was so cute...

Oh, we like the ad for Same Smile...

catsdontscreetch · 27/07/2010 22:05

It was Razzledazzle!!!!!
Now I can go to bed>

catsdontscreetch · 27/07/2010 22:06

It was Razzledazzle, now I can go to bed!

Onestonetogo · 27/07/2010 22:07

Misswormwood, stop right there, you have competition! There definitely is something about Chris.

OP posts:
MerryMarigold · 27/07/2010 22:13

Chris - he's really chilled out, and looks you right in the eye and talks in a laidback way like he's talking to you and not 8 million toddlers!

I loooove razzledazzle...I forgot it, it's my favourite of all.

MerryMarigold · 27/07/2010 22:17

The other ceebeebies presenters all try tooooooo hard (except maybe Sid, though even he does a bit). It's funny how attractive it can be when they turn off the 'super enthusiastic' act.

beammeupscotty · 27/07/2010 22:23

The zingzilla tune is a dreadful earworm

  • Still cant get it out of my head 8 hours later.
