I can hear DH watching it in the next room..... Clarkson with his hideous drawling voice and his sartorial inelegance of jacket with jeans, a load of cars screeching and a bunch of men acting like 5 year olds.
Hate it, hate it, hate it.

and Richard Hammond's hair. Eowk

SwansEatQuince · 11/07/2010 20:53

It is dire.

They all talk over the applause and try to 'out lad' one another.

Mum72 · 11/07/2010 20:53

Oh yeah! I am soooooooooooooooooooooooo with you on this! Hate it with a passion and the immature twerps on the show too!

Alambil · 11/07/2010 20:57

I think it's funny

Poshwellies · 11/07/2010 21:00

Dire programme (with equally dire presenters)

frasersmummy · 11/07/2010 21:00

Love it. Keep forgetting to watch it but when I do catch it, it makes me laugh and I love the cars, the bigger and more gas guzzling the better.

Eglu · 11/07/2010 21:03

YABVU. Even more unreasonable is that it is not on in Scotland because we have stupid T in the Park coverage, argh!

notnowbernard · 11/07/2010 21:04

The only episode I ever enjoyed is when Clarkson almost went over the edge of a torrid mountainous path in S America somewhere

upahill · 11/07/2010 21:07

Well I like it!! I don't make a point of watching it but if it's on I'll have a few minutes with it.

snala · 11/07/2010 21:11

Love it! Its so funny. YABVU

ShadeofViolet · 11/07/2010 21:12

I like it, and my DS1 loves it!

HowAnnoying · 11/07/2010 21:15

YANBU at all. It's utter crap. Those 3 are possibly the most irratating people on telly. The audience are such a bunch of plebs aswel, they all adore the 3 numpties. I bet they all go home with slightly damps pants.

frasersmummy · 11/07/2010 21:16

Do you have sky Eglu?? I am a bit late with this advice now ... but for future ref..

If you have a sky box you can catch the other bbc regions around the 990 channels

I caught top gear on bbc london when we were showing stupid T in the Park

Effjay · 11/07/2010 21:17

YANBU. Can't stand it.

YANBU at all. I actually think it should be banned for being so irresponsible and stupid as to encourage speed, dangerous driving, utter disregard for the environemnt and evidence (I think) of wanking while driving. Hate.

kerstina · 11/07/2010 21:30

I agree its trash! They have never grown up have they ? My ds loves it unfortunately, i don't think they are good role models. They just think its so cool to be driving really fast. I just find them really irritating occasionally i have found them funny though i have to admit !

Glitterandglue · 11/07/2010 21:30

You're not being at all unreasonable to have an opinion and feel what you do, nope.

What would be unreasonable is if, for example, someone decided that liking it made people 'plebs'.

If you don't like it, you don't like it, fine. But just 'cause you don't get it doesn't mean I'm an idiot for liking it. I like it precisely because they're not always as they seem. Clarkson is a walking contradiction - the same man posited as a demon to the environment voluntarily agreed not to use a lawnmower on a field he owns because to do so might get rid of a rare species of grasshopper [I think it was that, an insect anyway].

As for the 'they encourage bad driving' argument: They encourage using your own judgement and making sensible decisions. And if people make stupid decisions, they encourage them to be punished accordingly. If people watching it are stupid enough to think you can loon about on a road with your Ford Focus like you can on a racetrack, that's not Top Gear's fault. Those people were made to read the highway code as well. If they don't understand the risks, why should a group of men who do be forced to bow down to the lowest common denominator in the audience and have every joke or comment come with a warning or a caveat of, "Seriously, don't do this for real"?

I could rant about this for years but will not come back to this post now 'cause I'm sure it'll raise my blood pressure if I do!

Tootlesmummy · 11/07/2010 21:32

I love Top Gear and have now managed get DH hooked on it as well. Taped it to watch after the world cup final.....

Granted Richard H could do with a haircut! But he's still cute!

Morloth · 11/07/2010 21:33

We like Top Gear here.

I quite like 6 year old boys so don't mind that they act like them.

Also I want to race an aeroplane in a Bugatti. Or possibly just have the Bugatti, plane is optional.

Just13moreyearstogo · 11/07/2010 21:34

I have no interest in the programme and am not a driver. I hate the way they make out that anyone who doesn't drive is a loser BUT we stayed in a hotel once where the three of them were also staying and they were very nice to my boys, chatting and signing autographs so I'm unable to hate them unreservedly!
