I can hear DH watching it in the next room..... Clarkson with his hideous drawling voice and his sartorial inelegance of jacket with jeans, a load of cars screeching and a bunch of men acting like 5 year olds.
Hate it, hate it, hate it.

I agree with GandG. I absolutely adore top gear, and Richard Hammond is bloody gorgeous.
You are being the most unreasonable person 'in the world'!

ItsAllTurnedToShit · 11/07/2010 21:43

I also hate the way the 'specials' are so scripted; oh no, its all gone horribly wrong, aren't we outrageous to be stranded in this potentially disasterous and dangerous situation (with only an entire film crew for company). People who like it are plebs.

MrsJohnDeere · 11/07/2010 21:45

I normally enjoy it but have found this series a bit lame.

unfitmother · 11/07/2010 21:46

I used to hate it too but DS loves it so much and laughs out loud that he's got me enjoying it too. Wouldn't miss it now!

Vallhala · 11/07/2010 21:47

YABU.

Top Gear rocks!

frasersmummy · 11/07/2010 21:47

Then a pleb be I!!

m0nkeynuts · 11/07/2010 21:48

YABVU!

I love Top Gear (and I can't even drive!)

(And btw it was on in Scotland at the earlier time of 7pm today!)

Poshwellies · 11/07/2010 21:49

Woooah Chill out Glitter!

Are you harbouring a secret crush on Clarkson?

nomorebooze · 11/07/2010 21:49

I love it! although Richard Hammonds hair stresses me out xx

jellybeans · 11/07/2010 21:52

YANBU it really pees me off!! However, my 1.5 year old loves it!!

Hulababy · 11/07/2010 21:53

Oh, I like Top Gear. I like the challenges and their banter TBH.

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 11/07/2010 21:53

I think that anyone who calls anyone else a pleb ought to take the stick out of their arse and get a life. It's insulting and rude. I like top gear, it's fun, so what?!

EssieW · 11/07/2010 22:00

I like it - even though I'm not a hugely keen driver. I agree it feels as though it has got a bit more scripted recently. But it's rare that I find a programme so funny.

Plus some of their challenges are classic TV - the race a couple of series ago between Tornado steam engine, car and motorbike to Edinburgh was great viewing!

moondog · 11/07/2010 22:04

They are pricks and I can say that having never watched more than 30 secs of it.
Mind you, was so desperate this Easter stuck in a far flung corner of globe with nowt to read that i read the only thing on offer-a collection of the wit and wisdom of JC.
Raised the odd smile-but then again, in those circumstances, so would War & Peace have done.

Sidge · 11/07/2010 22:07

I really resent being called a pleb for enjoying an entertainment programme

Yes I know it's scripted.

Yes I know it's set up and staged.

Yes I know they're not all alone in Botswana/Vietnam/Bolivia.

But you know what? I find it funny. It makes me laugh A LOT and there is very little on the TV these days that makes me laugh.

So please do not insult those who happen to enjoy an entertainment programme that you happen not to enjoy. It's patronising and rude.

moondog · 11/07/2010 22:09

Oh FGS Sidge.
Lighten up you with a mouth like a cat's arse.

It's shite.

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 11/07/2010 22:14

I quite agree with sedge. If you can call me a pleb because I of what I watch on tv, what next? Are you going to insult me because I drive an old car, or read crime thriller? By all means voice your personal opinion, but don't call me names because I have my own.

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 11/07/2010 22:15

Sidge even.

HowAnnoying · 11/07/2010 22:18

Can I just clarify I said the audience looked like a bunch of plebs. The audience in the studio, look at them, they've all got this soppy look of total addoration for the fools.

I don't have any view on people watching it on their TVs, just that they must have incredibly bad taste.

Sidge · 11/07/2010 22:20

My mouth is not remotely cat's arse-ish moondog. Well it is a bit as it's wrapped round the neck of a bottle of Becks but anyway.

I was becoming slightly outraged at being called a pleb for liking a telly programme. I know TG is shite. But it's shite I like.

I thought we were supposed to get all outraged with each other on AIBU?

moondog · 11/07/2010 22:21

Good Lord no.
There is room for outrage and general arsiness (even of feline variety) all over MN

Get that beer down ya girl!

Sidge · 11/07/2010 22:25

Ohhhhhh, OK, and there was me just saving my outraged-of-Swindon type rantings for AIBU.

Right, shall fetch more Becks and let loose all over MN...

jemart · 11/07/2010 22:33

Yabu. Granted Clarkson is a wally but the rest of the show is very entertaining, especially when they blow up caravans and drop pianos on grotty little cars.

iwasyoungonce · 11/07/2010 22:40

YANBU. Utter shit.

JimmyTarbuck · 11/07/2010 22:51

It's a horrible programme with horrible presenters. It's for 15 year old boys, isn't it?
