These two keep cropping up on my Facebook feed. They are a gay couple planning to adopt and apparently it's really happening - next week. They post incessantly about the process and are clearly very excited, but how can social services be ok with this?

It isn’t unusual for adoption, particularly when it isn’t a first removal for the birth parent. Our daughter was a very young baby when she was placed due to being a second removal, if she wasn’t placed with us she would have likely been foster to adopt. Her adoption was completed before she was a year old.

I think it is more common nowadays that there is foster to adoption for example. I adopted 25 years ago and it was very difficult to find very young children.

Have you seen two men and a little lady.? A gay couple with the most adorable sassy toddler. They are like chalk and cheese however they do show her face, it’s not known how long she has been with them or what her name is, no background at all, she slots into their lives which is full of creativity. Long dog walks and building same castles. I don’t have anything to criticise them about,

We know ‘Moo’, she’s even sassier in real life.

I adopted 25 years ago and have seen so many adopters of younger children have a seemingly lovely early years only for it to go wrong around move to secondary school. But these kids had no publicity - their lives fell apart in complete obscurity. These families promoting their adoptive family set up are playing with fire imo. The chances of things going wrong are pretty high. What happens to their carefully curated family stories then?

I cant get enough of her and i love how she loves her big dinners in the pub just like her daddies.
