WHY do chunky slebs always say that they've 'slimmed down to a size 12' when they HAVEN'T?

do they think we don't know? case in point Mica Paris (who looked infinitely better in the frock)... she's now 13st something and in a size 12.

there will be a dvd, oh yes there will. Vanessa feltz is still a size 12 you know... having bulked up from a 10. my arse.

Aitch - thank you . I'm still overweight though

Dior · 26/05/2009 18:34

Oh and LLB's wife looks stunning thinner. Still not skinny, which is great to see. A thinner face suits her, although she was gorgeous overweight too.

curlygal · 26/05/2009 18:43

I think it depends where she buys her "size 12" from.

I am not proud of this but I have a bit of a thing about not buying anything bigger than a size 12 (and no I *do not read the daily mail). I know it's silly and vain but It's the way I am.

I am 5'9" and at the moment I am over my usual 11 stone. At 11 stone I am pretty slim and am at the smaller end of the size 12 spectrum. I am still wearing (and TBH buying size 12) when I am (deep breath) really in all honesty a size 14. There I've admitted it.

So technically she could be a size 12 in for example sainsbury's tu or M&S or other generous shop?

I think she looks much better than I would in a bikini anyway.

agree re Vanessa feltz though - that must be the world's biggest size 12

mrsmaidamess · 26/05/2009 18:46

curly that shows we are all different builds. I am exactly the same height and weight as you, yet could never get into a size 12 bottom, as the old hips are too big. (Tops fine)

harley - here

Basically you live on liquids for 6 months.

TwoIfBySea · 26/05/2009 19:38

I always liked the fact that Florence Llewelyn Bowen obviously loved to bits his wife, no matter her size. Kind of a snub on the nose to the usual cookie-cutter wives that celebs have.

Still, she does look good on it. Mica Paris looks scary though.

harleyd · 26/05/2009 19:41

thanks squeaver
cant see how anyone could stick to that for so long

I know three women who have done Lighter Life, all have put weight back on to varying degrees. One ended up bigger than she was to start with. One ended up about halfway between her before and after weight, and one has managed to keep most of it off. But I also suspect she has something of a strange relationship with food now.

I'm sure it all would have been a lot less effort, and cheaper, if they'd just dieted and exercised sensibly from the start.

NotmyELFtoday · 27/05/2009 19:30

FGS, why do people just not eat properly. I hate seeing articles where women have lost weight through stupid measures - the 500 calories a day, the juice diet, the bloody hospital diet, the grapefruit diet, the bloody punishments some women go through to lose weight. Some of the articles drive me nuts, espeically in cases such as Natalie Cassidy (sp) where its such an extreme and they have to justify the fact that they have stopped their unmanagement diet. Especially when they always looked so lovely before.

rookiemater · 01/06/2009 17:04

Theres another blinkin one. I can't do links properly but if anyone checks out the Dailymail website ( hangs head in shame) then you will see how Fern Britton managed to go from size 16 ( really a size 16 hummm I don't think so she was at least a 20 when she weighed more) to a svelte size 12.

However I would estimate that she is easily a size 14 and more likely to be a small size 16.

Nothing wrong with that, tbh I thought she looked better before in a sort of cuddlicious way, now she is a bit mutton as lamb, but THERE IS NO WAY ON THIS EARTH SHE IS A SIZE 12 (except in the USA of course)

namechangerforareason · 01/06/2009 17:27

No frickin chance she is a 12! If she is a 12 then I have a penis! (just checked and I don't!)

Eve4Walle · 02/06/2009 14:33

She's not a 12 is she? But the point is that she feels better about herself and that's what counts eh?

I personally think she looks good either way.

shhhh · 03/06/2009 23:18

am I the only one who doesn't think she looks any different in the 2 pics.? .

She looks lovely, figure is "natural" BUT I can't see any weight loss..??????

nomorecake · 05/06/2009 10:37

LLB's wife seems very lucky to have a quite a slim face, even when she was larger her face was not chubby looking.
so her face looks really slim and tighter (i think) after the weight loss, so maybe she didn't have surgery?

you can really see it on my face when i put weight on, my face and chins gets very chubby!! makes me look fatter than i am!

shhhh · 05/06/2009 13:54

"chins"

How many do you have .!

nomorecake · 06/06/2009 18:57

two at the mo...

three when i do this !

shhhh · 07/06/2009 15:42

lol !!! or should that be [chin]

MrsMattie · 07/06/2009 15:44

Charlotte Church was apparently a 10 before getting pregnant with her second child (according to a slag mag I have on my person ). Whatever. She was always a 14-ish, I'd say.

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 07/06/2009 16:04

M&S is NOT generous.

HelloBeastie · 07/06/2009 16:51

Libra - are you saying there are shops with more generous sizing than M&S? Tell me more...

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 07/06/2009 16:55

Well I'm a 14 bottom everywhere I shop (which is admittidly Gap, Fat Face, White Stuff etc rather than Karen Morgan) except M&S where yesterday I nearly wept when I couldn't get into their 16.
