I cannot bear Bruce Forsyth. I suspect I won't be alone in this on Mumsnet, but he seems to be viewed as some kind of wonderful old trouper by the general population and by the press. I suspect he is a nasty old git.

Can't stand Elton John. Totally agree wrt Paul McCartney and Alan Titchmarsh. I caught his show once in which he had a section about sex toys. Bleurgh. Made me cringe.

I love David Jason and Rolph Harris (technically Australian but surely he's been here long enough for us to adopt him?)

Paul Mcartney for me i can't stand the sight of him ( i also constantly shout at the telly if he's on, and quite loudly hoped that Heather would take him for everything)

sorry but what nation are you from that you can claim sean connery, cilla black, zeta jones and bono?

bono is our national treasure, and no one can ever hate him in the special way that us irish hate him. especially when he's in the queens and the attention means it takes longer to get served at the bar.

(bites) surely if you see the country as a whole you see it as seperate from britain as a whole. rather than seeing the republic as part of the uk as well as N.Ireland.
