Should I advise my friend?

I don't know whether it's any of my business but...
I have an ex-colleague who is now a friend. She is younger than me - 30 (I'm mid 40s).
She is currently online dating and met a man last weekend for the first time f2f for the day. He is 34 ish. She has already told me she wants to marry him pretty much!
Anyway, she messaged me this morning to say he has come over from his place (about 1 hr away) to stay at her flat. He was there last night and slept in the living room.
Perhaps I'm being old but I worry about inviting a virtual stranger into her home? She has no parents to guide her.
Should I say anything?

She does, but she is absolutely desperate to be married so she can have a baby.

As are quite a few single women in their thirties

Yes. But surely you can appreciate how that adds to her vulnerability?

So rather than mumsnetting - have you done or said anything? What’s your plan now?

She’s got to the ripe old age of 30 and has relationships and she’s as positive as ever. And now this latest chap has stayed over and all was fine. So… I’d be surprised if she changes.

She will be part of a very strong and supportive church group.

Of course there’s risk.

But loads and loads do it
and loads and loads are fine

My point is. It’s not unusual. And on a balance of probability will be absolutely fine

and indeed in this very case - he slept over and absolutely everything was Fine

Ok but neither the OP or I said it was unusual.

Just that it's risky.

It's not low. And the 1 in 4, that's probably a conservative figure.
She also didn't invite him to hers "for a shag". She does not want that.
You do also know that women can invite back a man and have consexual sex with him, but then he could assault/rape her following on from that?

Would you like me to google that for you? It’s not relevant to the discussion but never bad to be educated about women’s safety.

And men you "fancy the pants off" and "invite back to your house for a shag" can still assault and / or rape you.

She's OK - she sent me a message after church to check in.

@Whatsttreat I imagine so although he isn't that local and works abroad.

Well so many on here are saying it's none of my business so I probably won't say anything?

I wish I'd have had someone looking out for me when I was dating. I didn't think I left myself particularly vulnerable, but I did learn men can be truly vile.
But I will leave it and just hope this man is a kind one.

No. I guess I just didn't realise how common it was for men to be really awful. Perhaps I was too trusting, and would have appreciated a friend with more life experience suggesting this?

It is an interesting choice to take advice from someone who minimises the incidence of rape and assault. But your decision.

Who minimised it? Certainly not me.
