Its Just been on sky news the the man has died

I’m not surprised.

I saw 2 videos, 1 the tiger was playing rough, the other he was trying to eat/bite him hard.

Even one bite must have punctured some vital organs.

JustAnotherWhinger · 10/10/2026 18:32

Apparently the gas canisters they fire to try and diffuse go off with a sound that’s like a shot to most people (apparently those used to firearms likely can tell the difference).

I saw the video earlier and it didn't look like the tiger really badly attacked the guy so I was surprised to read that he died. I guess the attack must have been escalated from there. I don't know what does through people's minds at times. Even if suicidal there are better ways to go about doing it than being attacked by a tiger. Hopefully he wasn't a social media "creator" doing it for clicks.

It must have done because I saw that clip too and the tiger barely touches him and seems slightly timid when he shouts at it. Who knows why he did it, glad the tiger was unharmed though.

OneHazelBird · 10/10/2026 18:33

I don’t think he was suicidal as he was telling the tiger off for biting him.

But I definitely think some sort of learning difficulties or psychosis.

I saw a second clip where he was actually pinning him down and biting him.

Not nice viewing and by that time there were still obviously people around recording and so it would have got even worse after that.

Spartan123 · 10/10/2026 18:34

He was pointing his two little fingers at the tiger, which is Makaton for 'naughty, bad'. I guess that could point to additional needs? I really hope the tiger isn't put down, not its fault at all. All tragic.

TheGiddyCat · 10/10/2026 18:31

That headline is so misleading. It makes it sound like the tiger started it.

Agreed.

It’s like a ‘shark attack’. You’re in the sea, with the shark and the shark was hungry…

Yes, or it might have severed an artery.

What a very sad situation. Whatever the man's motives, I feel for his loved ones who are going to run the gauntlet of social media etc. while they are trying to grieve.

Whether you have sympathy or not, you don’t need to spew hate over the internet about it when ultimately the only thing it can achieve is his poor family reading hate. That was the point the poster being quoted was making.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 10/10/2026 18:36

What an awful situation

Oh please, not everything has to be about mental health and hashtag be kind. This was Darwinism in action. He did something fucking stupid and I just hope the poor innocent tiger is ok.

More like hashtag be reasonable.

There are circumstances in which people aren’t responsible for their actions. It’s a well-established concept, not something invented in the last few years you unilaterally decide you’re bored with. There’s good reason to think someone who jumps into a big cat enclosure may be one of those people, which would make comments about Darwinism pretty tasteless.

Nobody wants to see an animal harmed (and thankfully it seems the tiger hasn’t been) but we don’t know enough about what happened to judge the man who died.

RandomFireworks · 10/10/2026 18:37

What the fuck is wrong with you Op 🤬 Posting photos of the poor chap being attacked and asking if people have seen the sick videos circulating social media. He’s since died and police apparently struggled to contact his family , let’s hope the police managed to locate them before they saw any of the photos and videos. Imagine if it was your family member and you found out about their horrific death from a post on Mumsnet !!!

Alittlefrustrated · 10/10/2026 18:37

Guardian and Telegraph are saying man died at the scene, but the tiger is not harmed.

Moonnstarz · 10/10/2026 18:37

I haven't seen the footage but from the descriptions of him wagging his finger at the tiger then I would be in agreement this poor man had mental health issues. Maybe he was having a psychotic episode. Maybe a false belief he could train the tiger.
Very sad for him. I hope they don't put the tiger down though.

I saw the man making those signs and thought the same re a learning disability/difficulty 😢 which if this is the case makes most comments incredibly insensitive

Funkyfoxy · 10/10/2026 18:39

They tranquilise first surely, hoping Tiger is ok

Boreded · 10/10/2026 18:39

ToKittyornottoKitty · 10/10/2026 18:20

BBC has just updated to specify that the tiger was uninjured so hopefully they tiger is allowed to live and isn’t punished for this guys actions

It’s not a dog, it isn’t going to be put down because it bit…it’s a Tiger. It wasn’t killed at the time of the issue so why would they kill it now 🫣🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Dunnocantthinkofone · 10/10/2026 18:39

I do have to wonder at the stupidity of designing and building an enclosure for a predator capable of killing where it is possible for someone mentally unstable to climb into it in the first place

Ihateboris · 10/10/2026 18:40

Has the guy died??

purpleme12 · 10/10/2026 18:40

I hope his relatives don't read your comment. Some of them might not know that he is dead yet.
I'm not saying what he did was right, but think of the family left behind.
I speak from experience.

Ihateboris · 10/10/2026 18:41

Itv reporting that the guy has died
